Honda Motor Trike front end vibration.

I had a rake kit put on my Motor Trike. Ever since then at approximately 65 to 70 MPH I pick up a wobbling in my handlebars especialy if turning right in a mild curve on Interstae, ect. Yes I thought it was the tire and had a new front tire put on it, still same problem. When I had rake kit put on I also had stock springs replaced with Progressive springs.

Anyone else having this problem or any ideas? Bill

Howdy Bill..

When I converted last year I rebuilt my forks and installed the progressive springs and installed the 4.5 degree rake. Don't have the problem you mentioned so I expect something isn't right. Either the torque on the steering head bearing is off or the fluid level in the forks is not right. If they just pulled your old forks and dropped the progressives in then I'd expect the latter. Progressive springs are larger in diameter material so it takes less fluid.

Little things like that can make a big difference....

Thanks Jerry for info. I did the same thing to mine you staed you have done. I had local Motor Trike mechanic here in Houston area do it, so time to take it back and see if he can fix. Under seventy not big problem but 70 up lord it gets scary. You being from Tejas you know most of our roads are 70 MPH speed limit so.......

Had a problem like this ended up being rear-tires and wheel out of balance

Had a very similar problem and it turned out to be left rear tire out of balance. I would have not believed it if I did not see the it. Took trike to Goodyear and had both rear tires pulled and checked. Left rear needed 2 oz. of weight added. Runs smooth as silk now.......................

Just making a "guess" here, but since the Problem only shows up when going/steering in one direction, the Problem "COULD BE" a Rear Tire/Wheel, etc. issue. As You cut Your Front Wheel right on a Trike, You load the Left Rear, and vice-versa...might be more than worth checking out.....
