From what I've seen on the RoadSmith site, they still do make fender bras for their conversion as long as you don't have the wing-boards installed. Personally, I don't care for the look of them. I'm assuming that's what you meant by "fender-skirted kits".
An older GL1500 kit from the Trike Shop (before the kit name changed to Roadsmith) was designed so the fenders looked like 1500 Goldwing saddlebags. They could be had with fender skirts - the fender insert that covers the wheel - to more complete the look.

That truly is odd looking!!! I'm undecided as to it's " coolness " But Road smith did go away from it for a reason.. had to be cost???? As there is a lot of fiberglass and that removable panel ( skirt ) and all the hardware that goes with it!
But, a cool piece of trike history that's for sure... thanks for posting!
Some people will never get what you are saying... It's best to just walk away before the storm! ThumbUp
Nifty lookin' trike - would love to see one up close!!
A friend that rode in our group had one. It is the Trikeshop Ultimate. He rode it in most of the lower 48 and never missed a chance to ride. I have never known of him having a problem related to the kit. I have followed it several miles and when crossing railroads etc. it looked as if was floating. Very smooth. He died a couple yrs. ago and as far as I know his widow still owns it. They are somewhat odd looking at first but there is something about it that I have always liked.
Was looking around at trikes on ebay and came accross this guy with, among other trikes has 2 of the Trike Shop Ultimate conversions, along with matching trailers.

Hi Folks,
I presently own a 1989 GW1500 with the Roadsmith Ultimate conversion. The unit measures 10' 1" long and 58" wide at rear. Does have fender skirts,
extra 9 gal fuel tank and more.
