Re: Yeah - I remember that!
I collect cameras - I have some of those old round flashbulbs, both clear and tinted blue. Got the plasticflash shield, too. It has 3 sides, one clear, one frosted and one blue. It could regulate the light from the bulb somewhat, but was mostly for safety in case the flasbulb exploded, which they did once in a while. Also have a few unused flashcubes - originally went with the Kodak Instimatic with the drop-in cartrige film.

Re: Yeah - I remember that!
As I ironed this morning, I remembered when there were no steam irons. We had to spray or sprinkle water on the clothes so the heat of the iron would form steam to smooth out wrinkles........

Yes it was, Ted!
I'll bet very few, if any, members are old enough to remember the old irons. I'm not, but grew up in Africa w/ no electricity, so we used them. Either heated on top of the wood stove or opened and filled with hot coals!

Re: Yeah - I remember that!
Getting away from TV and movies, and possibly offending those city born & raised - We used to get a dime for each gopher tail delivered to the county Ag office. Most of the boys in our area over 5 or 6 to about 13 or 14 had a bunch of gopher traps and a BB gun. Might make $2 or $3 in a real good week. Big money in a time the average allowance was 50˘ a week.

Re: Yeah - I remember that!
shiney, that one is fiction. He was a Marine right at the end of the war but never saw combat duty.
But what some old codgers like me will recall, he was Clarabell the clown on Howdy Doody in the 1950s.

Now, if you want to talk about quad core overclocking or north bridging maybe the difference between IPV4 and IPV6..how about the temperature curve differentials for blended hydrogen bromide or hexafluoropropylene... I'm your guy but a Zotz is just too complicated for me.
