Default Yeah - I remember that!

The object is to post something that was once common, but has gone out of favor, use, fashion, or whatever. When someone reads it the ideal reaction shoud be, "Yeah - I remember that! Haven"t even thought about it for years."
Don't make it obvious, like "Penny candy for a Penny". If you don't know what someone else posted, feel free to ask. I'm sure some of these things will be unknown to the younger folk. Things like:

Dimmer switch on the floor/firewall of a car.

Milk in bottles - on freezing mornings the milk left on the stoop would freeze and push the cardboard top off the bottle, leaving a frozen column of milk poking up from the bottle.

While we're on the topic of TV shows, remember the four Cartwrights (Ben, Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe) riding into view at the beginning of "Bonanza"? When I was quite young and didn't know what "bonanza" meant, I couldn't understand why their last name was Cartwright and not Bonanza.

Ah the days when we were innocent and naive....wasnt life simple then. I guess my favorite out of the bunch was Little Joe but Hoss was a good dude too and could pick up anyone and toss them around like a rag doll. I loved that show.

Great TV show:

Man I forgot about Rat Patrol. That was one of my favorites. I was going to name just one or two shows but every time I typed one another one popped in my head. ( went back and edited because I realized it was supposed to be ONE thing..not ten...sorry) Yes, Rat Patrol was a good one.

I also remember the milk man leaving milk on our door step and what a treat it was when mom got a bottle of chocolate milk!

OOh, yeah, that was one of my faves--cool Napoleon Solo and the mysterious (and adorable!) Illya Kuryakin. Fortunately, I can--and do--still see David McCallum today, as Dr. Mallard, "Ducky," in NCIS.

TV that signed off about midnight with the National Anthem, or some other inspirational message. My favorite was the station that played Air Force fighter jets and B52's flying in the clouds with a voiceover of the poem "High Flight" being read.

We had a Halo light around the screen (why I don't know ) it still looked like a 18" screen in a huge cabinet and we knew the TV repairman by first name. Tin foil helped reception and we had a rotor on the antenna

I can still picture my Uncle, aka our tv repairman, sitting in the corner with tubes spread out all over and his cool toolbox with the built in tester ! And my grandmother telling me when i was small (early 60's) that if I learned how to repair television sets, Id have a job for the rest of my life !
