Post Re: Stop That Slipping Clutch

Somewhere back in this thread I mentioned that I actually sought something to help my clutch-lift. My stock HD hydraulic clutch would just barely provide the minimal .065 lift required over the SE spring I had in ths 95-inch motor. The 84 was recomended to me by AIM for my setup with the SE spring, but I sprung for the 70 as I wanted to be sure and get the lift. I did and actually got .075 and it all works just fine. Ultraboy, having installed hundreds of these things, has surely got to know what he is talking about. The risk-at-hand with the 70 in these 103 motors could very well be the possibility of slippage, and I mean slippage at pull-away with a stock spring. I think it would still lock-up and not slip at speed. I am sure the 84 over your stock spring is going to feel like my 70 over my SE spring and I think you will be very happy.

Folks...it all just a matter of spring...sprang...sprung and there are numerous matches and ways you can achieve the same thing. Reksul seems satisfied with his 84 over his SE spring and you folks with the stock springs will be even happier.

Stick them suckers in!

VT.. isn't it fun being an engineer? We are trained to question everything and it can be a royal pain in the arse, can't it my friend.

To summarize.. "Stick them in" .. that's a good call.

If anyone needs assistance while installing them, send me a PM and I'll be happy to give you my phone number. It is really easy.

I'm satisfied, I'm done, you will be too. Thanks again guys.

Finally got around to putting mine on today. Straight forward install. About 10% lighter pull on the lever, (that was not my requirement) great feel of lock-up of the clutch pack. I got the feeling that I could not slip it if I really tried. I didn't because I try not to tear up my equipment. Bottom line I like it Thanks to all especially Dave for being the supplyer. Ted
