to each their own.
coming off a wing (2 wheel) to the RT was a big new learning process
now that I have done it I am glad.
lot's of the horror stories would give anyone pause
you have to run it higher in the RPM to make it happy
never run in 5th gear unless on the highway
    only shift above 4500
we have had no problem in 7k miles and we have an great dealer

    ride safe

Hey Sue, Check out Riders Plus, only cover Motor Trike or Lehman here in ONT. Not sure about Bombardier products as I did not need to ask. Still worth a call. Why buy a Bike/Trike based on insurance???
    Take Care.

, PS had no problem Getting Insured. Seeing a lot of spyders on the roads, must be getting insurance some where . Do not feel obligated to you present insurance company if they can not accommodate you. Call or PM me if you have any questions. By the way nice looking Machine. Love the Color.

    Latest recall on spyder
A pin securing the brake pedal connecting rod could disengage and eventually fall out!
This could cause a total loss of main brake function without warning!
Happy day when the spyder left my house!

    I thought this was interesting
    :
Can-Am’s research tells it there are many people out there who want the wind-in-the-face experience, but not necessarily the gravel-in-the-ass one now that they’re predominantly 45- to 55-year-old males, 27 percent of whom have never owned a motorcycle. Another interesting fact is that 25 percent of owners are women.

I guess considering its parents it does have sort of an identity crisis going on.

All insurance compaines have different requirements. My company had no problem insuring my TG but would not insure a conversion. Go figure.

I had 46 years experience riding 2 wheels from a Bridgestone 90 to a Honda Goldwing 1800. Enjoyed every minute of it. After 40 plus years of standing on my feet 12 hours a day, knees got week. Options: quit riding motorcycles or go to 3 wheels. I have a 2011 Can-Am RT limited and love it with about 9000 miles. The way I see it, we are ALL riding motorcycles, some with 2 wheels and some with 3.

Just bought the RT limited on Saturday, there is an attractive end of model year discount going on. I have ridden many different motorcycles and trikes since before legal age, and found the spyder to be effortless and enjoyable riding. Since my minor stroke in 2009, I used the Voyager kit initially to keep riding, and later as my strength returned to keep us safe while my wife is on board. Now that we are in our 50s (I'm 56, she is 51) a trike was on the retirement list. Spent all spring and summer trying different trikes and conversions and, owing to the fact that I still have some minor physical issues have gone with the easy to ride option. This actually started as an inquiry into the spyder sport model as a replacement for her Honda, but the sport spyder has you sit like a crotch rocket - not what we wanted. The bad thing is that my wife just loves this thing and I may have to buy another....

The Harley below will appear in the for sale section in a day or so.

Nope, just to bring it home from the dealer. Wasn't going to ride it home through NY City in the rain. The tie down is one of the two methods shown as acceptable in the owner's manual. Put it on backwards so I didn't scrape the front end, and kept my speed down.

I recently traded my Stallion for a Spyder RT-S. I liked the Stallion, but no matter what I did to the suspension, it was a really rough ride, and my wife hated it. I couldn't get her on the thing. Some may say that's a plus....but personally I like to have her legs wrapped around me, but I digress... She and I love the Spyder. It is an adjustment even from the Stallion, but the ride is incredibly smooth. I still miss my Honda Rune from my 2 wheel days, but the Spyder is a great ride. Mine is new so I have yet to experience any problems.

From what I see, two wheelers go to a trike, when the time comes.
These Spyders attract the guys with no experience, regardless of age or health.

We have a few Spyders here. A few states are allowing you to take the test on them for the,Motorcycle endorsement. They have it on their TV add, but found it is not true here in Conn. Lake George last year was full of them, 20 to 1 over the Stallion . I have only seen 2 registered Stallions since they came out .As stated a lot of the Spyders I see have for sale signs on them. Too low to the ground for,me Kind of scary on the highway with the big trucks . Riding position is hunched over ( snowmobile style) the touring Model not so bad.

Problem with your analysis is you see one sport model spyder and think they are all the same. The touring models are not hunched over, as you say, and are made for touring. People give analysis on kits, TG's and Can-Am and have not studied them to consider their opinion as educated. IMHO...

We have spyders in SCRC 048 , they talk about how many trips to the shop , the MPG and waits for parts ...... other than looking odd not sure what they see in those things , but then wings arn't for everybody as well.
