Has anyone installed security system

I know I know most think I silly for even thinking that somebody might walk off with my trike BUT these things are getting quite popular lately. When I was on just two wheels I'd park by a few HD's and no one would give mine a second look. Now that I've added the extra wheel and probably do a lot of touring on my own I'd feel saver knowing its protected a bit. I've seen the Scorpion systems but they don't have the harness we need for our machines. So if anyone could shed some light on this I'd appreciated it.&lt;br /&gt;<br />

I have insurance on mine. It covers theft too.

I had a "Lo-jack" unit on mine , well worth the investment , as all LEO can track it

lo-jack is not in Missisippi, we do have handguns. I use The Judge.

You didn't mention size of your Yamaha, but several years ago I had a Suzuki Lehman conversion trike and used a Trimax rotor lock on the front wheel. Think I got it online from Bike Bandit, about $30 or so. Also used the fork lock. (do you have have one on your bike?) Felt pretty safe with the Trimax. Couldn't justify the expense of installing an alarm and ignition cutout. Am riding a BMW trike now, and it has a pretty good built in security system, but I never worried about the Suzuki being parked in a hotel lot overnight.

If a late model BMW, you don't want to loose your key. Took a friend 3 days to get a replacement.

Get a rotor lock from wally world,they work great. If they really want it consider it gone. Then just call your insurance agent.

Well the bike side is an 06 Royal Star built to a Hannigan trike. I use to have the steer/fork lock but had the tree changed and not sure if lock is still there. (trikes in storage at present time). I guess only option would be the front rotor lock. But I've heard they can be very dangerous, specially if you forget to remove before moving. LOL&lt;br /&gt;<br />

Mine has a bright Orange cable that runs from the rotor lock to the handle bar at the start switch. makes it pretty hard to miss it.

The steering lock is gone after the conversion of raked.

Like some of the others I have Insurance. and who's is going
to steel it unless you leave your key in the Iggy anyways ?

Your talking about a 1200 lbs I guess they could roll it aways,
That Trike is huge, not sure if they want to bother with it.

Ours has the ezsteer and the steering lock still works, we tried Larry's yesterday and his works too.

I just bought a security system for my Venture Trike and am waiting for the weather to warm up to install it. It is a TW-1000 Internatrix Motorcycle Security System and cost $169.00. Okay, I now have the alarm system installed, this week, on my Trike. The alarm definitely really startled me when it first went off. I didn't know what to expect, but certainly didn't expect it to be that loud. Sitting inside the garage added to the volumn, I know. The trunk of the RS Venture has a netted space across the front, which worked out fine to place the control box and all the excess wires. I mounted the LED light on the left side of the bikes trunk and the alarm and antenna attached to the lid, with the sensor stuck on top of the battery. I didn't connect either the flashing lights or the ignition cut off systems. The Remote sounds off, vibrates, and displays colors when alerted. It's also a very attractive piece, and there are two of them included. This Internatrix System is truly well designed and enginnered. I'm proud to have it aboard.<br />

I use a XENA rotor lock with built in alarm I bought on Ebay. Not real extra loud but better than nothing. If I feel it really needs it I have a 3/8 cable from Lowes and a padlock to lock it to a pole or something. The cable run through the rear wheels makes it impossible to roll away.
