Push down on the right side with your fingers you will find a release button and pull up on the rest. Just feel around in the opening that is in your seat were your bracket goes in and you will find it.
Or do you mean the passenger backrest mounted on tour pack? Which I would assume is screwed in place maybe.
sometimes it is easier to 'feel' if you raise the back pad all the way up. There is a pull button under the flap on the rear of the pad. After the 3rd or 4th time it gets easier.
