i just installed a voyager trike kit on my 2003 ultra
when i go around corners it feels like its going to tip over
on the street at 40mph the front didn't feel to stable
does anyone know anything on these issues
or is this normal

Don't mean to insult you, but the Voyager kit is basically training wheels on a motorcycle.
If you read past threads, you'll see that others who have installed the Voyager also experience the outside wheel leaving the pavement on curves.

Basically, you are still driving a two wheeler with a couple of tires that provide stability on the straightaway but are not drive wheels on corners, they just sit there and free spin. You don't have any kind of slip differential or independent suspension. So, when you lean into the curve, you bring the opposite tire off the road.

Have you visited an HD dealer to take a demo ride on a Triglide? World of difference! You wouldn't believe it.
Again, no insult intended, but you do need to be looking at real motortrikes, not the wannabees.

i'm a newbee to trikes
i have been riding harley's for over 20 years had a stroke which screwed up my balance
if i had 35k i would bye a triglide
does anybody have first hand experience riding with a voyager trike kit

Ok start by resetting the rear wheels. Drive the rear motorcycle tire up on a 1" thick piece of wood. Both side wheels will be off the ground. Now loosen the rear u bolts and get both tire on the ground. Re tighten U bolts and ride off the wood. Try that for starters. I rode one for 3 years. Scary at first it will not tip over. Once you get use to it it will be fine . Learning curve is quite long 300 to 500 miles .

I have the preload at 5/8" now if I take it up to an inch the wheels probably wont come off the ground. does it matter or should I go up more than an inch?

Hi HD4BW Welcome to the Forum. I have a Voyager Kit on a 2003 Sportster so I know where your coming from. First check to make sure your rear wheel on the bike is straight after changing the rear axle. Also when you attached the Vkit to the bike, the bike has to be as perfect to vertical as possible. When doing preload adjustment make sure all tire pressures are set to specs before you change anything. I would not exceed 1 inch on the preload, it may lift the bike rear tire. The low speed front wobble may be helped by tightening your neck bearings a little and installing a steering damper. If you bike has air suspension you may have to experiment with the pressure there as well. These things do take getting use to but are a lot of fun once you do. Another thought you have a 10 year old bike I would check your front wheel bearings they may need replacing.
