Find mechanic work to be very tiring. Trike has 40K miles. Front brake pads look like new. Just changed the fluid. Rear brake pads are worn. This will be the third set in the rear. Most of my braking is with the rear brakes, and the pads don't compare with the ruggedness of the front pads. Will continue with this project tomorrow. Time for a nap.

Leo, when you press your rear brake, the system does not proportioned any fluid to your front brakes? I believe Honda does. So, your brakes may wear at a better rate.

That will be an epic tour of the USA! Tell Jeannette I will write to her so she won't be lonely! LOL

Have a a Great and safe trip!

Rosy, My rear brakes are not linked to my front brakes. Guess I just need to check rear pads every 20K miles.

Told Jeannette you will write to her while I'm gone. :-)

    Thanks Rosy!

See trike conversion has a few lube points. Guess I'll be busy for a while.

That's great Leo, tell Jeannette to bring her snow boots, they got snow this weekend. We are scheduled to have two days in the 80/90s, then go back into the 50/60s..

I believe it is going to be a cool summer here, with lots of rain, not like last year were people lost their wells because of the drought.

Need to make appointment to have lube done on my Hannigan suspension, and have front fork extensions put on, as they were not done when the bike was triked.

Have a great time this summer.

Great work! Nice lift, sure would be nice to have one of those, but alas, no room in the Inn! LOL

Rear tires on your kit, what size are they? Did he rake kit come with fork extensions?

So, how was the ride after the work you did on it, great improvement? I bet there was!

    Thanks for sharing, great pictures!

Do like I did, buy the lift and build a garage around it. LOL

    They are P205/70R15.

I bought the rake kit from Papa Zook, it came complete. It's a really nice product.

So, how was the ride after the work you did on it, great improvement? I bet there was!

The only real test ride was earlier this week on a day it was so windy I couldn't even hold my head straight. But I believe I set the front end wrong so I retorqued it as well as completed other maintenance work today. I'll test it tomorrow weather permitting.

    Thanks for sharing, great pictures!

Love it, built it and they will come! Field of Dreams to have a nice lift to make work on the trike a lot easier. At 73, getting up and down starts to get harder, that's the time you sue the city for building the sidewalks further from your B___! LOL 😜

Please let us know how it rides.

Need to put longer fork extensions on my Hannigan, will it make the ride better, I am sure it will, but it rides great right now..Better! WOW! We will see!

Why more HP? As my tuner told me about my GL1800, you got over 100HP available to you, but you will never use it, No! He said you will save money by leaving the GL stock and not put money in it to get more horse power, was he right, I trust him, so he may be correct.

I wonder, thinking of the days of HP, in the 60s, took a 396, beefed it up to get more HP, now, you had to stay on the engine to make sure it was running correctly and not blow a rod or a piston, while the stock 396, ran forever with any worries. Is this thinking true today as it was years ago? Maybe!!

I guess my days of sticking my body in an engine compartment to tune a motor may be over, but hey, nothing is ever over, just set aside!

I have to do the same thing, but it is raining in NH, go figure! No way to do it inside, so I will wait for a good day!

What do you use for oil, Shell Rotella T-6 and Fram filter on my GL-1800. Change it more than I have to. You can go 10,000, but lots of time, don't pass 6,000. I wonder if the new oil which can go one year works on a motorcycle? They say Mobil 1 can go 15,000 in a car.

Last winter's project was to hook my trunk door to the side cover display when open. Ran out of time finding the plug, rewiring the switch, and fitting the wires. Had some great help from fellow trikers in trying to figure out where the plug was for the hookup. Never found it under the seat, so I was advised it may be hiding under the upper trunk, or in the recess areas around the seat. So, with winter being so long, snowy, cold, and me just getting back from my "adventure" (that's another story) since December 8th, we are going to "try" and tackle these projects before spring.

Hope your "projects" go well for you.

I started last week and finished today, replaced the air filter, changed the oil and oil filter, changed the coolant. new plugs, installed mic mutes, PTT/volume control for passenger, new LED flasher and a back rest. Done for awhile I think.
