Gas Mileage

I just bought a 2005 1800 Goldwing with a Roadsmith trike kit. I was wondering what type of gas mileage I should be expecting.

I've got an '06 wing with the Roadsmith HT1800 kit. Last week we rode 170 miles in a strong wind and averaged 35 MPG. A lot of the riding was interstate at 70-75 MPH.

You should expect between 30 & 35 MPG.
I really all depends on how much weight (Passengers & Cargo) you are hauling
and if you are towing a trailer. Keep the RPM's much above 3000 and it could be
less than 30.

I've checked my 2012 1800 CSC and it fairly consistently gives 33 mpg. I'm happy that I opted for the 3.4 gallon auxillary tank.

I would guess about the mid 30, depending on your speed and if you are riding 2 up or pulling a trailer. I wouldn't worry about the millage or the cost of gas. Just ride and enjoy. Be safe and enjoy the ride. Larry

Thank you for the input on the mileage. It will help having an idea to ensure it is tuned correctly. It runs great but I like to keep an eye on that kind of stuff.

Apples to Orange's here; I had a VTX 1800 and the mpg was 38/40 [highway] Once I added a Large Memphis shades windshield and leather like bags my mpg's went down to 33/35 because of wind drag...

When I owned my first Trike I checked my gas mileage every tankful for a year. All kinds of weather and wind. Got 35-38 MPG on a 2004 Wing with a CSC kit

When talking TRIKES it is SPG ( or smileage) yes everything on my DFT is original Honda Parts with only the addition of one extra wheel. Same gears rear etc. Best has been 38 worse is 32. All due to conditions mentioned by above members. The right wrist has a lot to do with both the MPG & the SPG. One goes up the other goes down. I think u can fig out how that works.

I have a 2013 Prius V that gave me 54.6 mpg while travelling through FL and LA a month ago. Up here in hilly KY it gives me 42.?? mpg. My 2006 GL1800 Roadsmith only produces 35-36 mpg. But what the heck - the view is better, no cage, and I can feel the breeze! I gladly settle for a few mpg less just for the sheer joy of the ride.

y '10 Wing with Roadsmith gives consistent mileage in the 32-36 range, depending on how far the right wrist is turned, load, etc. Trikes are a nice stable fun ride, but they are Not "economy" vehicles in any sense. Prior to the conversion, the Wing itself was consistently 38-42 (again, depending on wrist and load). In neither case did economy match my VW TDI.

I'm sure your's will fall in the same ranges everyone else is noting. She's a pretty big girl, and if you wick it up, she will burn some fuel!

I have a 1800 with a Lehman kit and I get 35 MPG consistently.

2008 GW w/ 2010 Roadwing conversion - average around 35 mpg with two up.

Don't know and don't care.
If I need gas I pump it from the back tank to the front tank. If that isn't enough I pull into a gas station and filler up.
If you have to worry about the gas mileage you might ought to buy one of those three wheel bicycles.
Enjoy the ride you shouldn't be in it for worries.

34/35 is about the best I can do two up and aux tank full on my RS. Tried running the rear tires 26 to 30 doesn't seem to make much if any difference. I be happier with 36/mpg but it is what it is. I'm a conservative rider, 65 or so.

I have an 05 with a Leaman kit, average 32 to 36 mpg. Worst I ever got was 29 in high winds and running 80 MPH down I-35, the best was 40 mpg, easy riding low wind running 50 to 60 MPH. Hope this helps, you will enjoy your ride.
