During the daylight hours both are not very bright. I tried to correct this problem by changing the bulbs to L.E.D's which helped a little. Can you pass along any suggestions for increasing the brightness of the lights?

    Thanks.

    Hi Jagjeep,

A brighter LED bulb option for the tail light on that model is made by a company called Radiantz. Make sure to use the multi direction LED's.
Radiantz p/n 3701-17 and they sell for $39.99 each.

Hopefully that helps. Thanks for rockin' a Roadsmith!

    Roadsmith re: Taylor Young:

Thanks a million for the suggestion of changing my tail light bulbs from the standard 1157 base bulbs to LED's sold by Radiantz. After contacting Radiantz, and running my problem by their engineering dept., it was recommended that I use the Z-Towerz LED, red in color bulbs. The cost was $39.99 each and the result of this change was incredible for running tail lights, turn signals and brake lights. The brightness of the lights have been increased 100% by this change.

Everyone: I highly recommend dealing with both the Roadsmith and Radiantz folks. They were most helpful and offered excellent customer service.

Well, help is what I need. Just bought a 2003 GW/Roadsmith 11,000 miles:
1.Looks like the rear tire/wheel size has been altered from thew 15" listed in the manual. Trike currently is equipped with 215/45R17 87H Ventus HRII. Is that normal? What ranges of air pressures would you suggest?
    2. Aux fuel tank > no lights working fuse or relay in circuit & where?
    3. Is FI warning light similar to check engine light on cars?
    4. Has some Prev Owners decided not to use aux tank, if so how are they handled?
    5. How can I find serial # of conversion or date of conversion?

Hockey you were given the phone number. I'd sure give them a call and get the interaction going..

Talk is often better then trying to guess what someone really meant in print.

Hope we you get the answers you seek.

Hi Hocky - if you could, please forward a picture of your "new to you" trike to the following email address jim_mcgurran@roadsmithtrikes.com. The pictures will tell me quite a bit about your trike.

Please include your telephone number and I will give you a ring so we can walk through your specific questions. Once all figured out, I will post a reply to the 5 issues listed above.

    Thanks!!

Interesting turn to this thread. I have a RS aux gas tank installed on my HT1500 conversion and there are no lights and I surely didn't understand the question regarding the FI light... the bike has carbs doesn't it? My aux tank has a switch between main tank and aux tank and both show their respective fuel level on the factory gas gauge. If there is no fuel at all in the aux tank, it would just show an empty tank and not affect the operation of the bike except not to have gas in that tank.

My tires are 215/65-16 and I would think that the height would affect speedo accuracy but that would be about it. I forget what type but they are an off-brand I think (not Goodyear or Firestone etc).

Thanks for the response> the 1800 has fuel injection. And you're right, the speedo is off. I'm going to check with The Trike Shop about the aux tank procedures. Ron

I was thinking you had a 1500 trike. Sorry. The aux tank should be the same kit for either a 1500 or 1800... maybe RS will straighten this out this week. Their customer support has been top notch since I bought mine. I would like them to comment on a locking gas cap. That cap of mine sits on my left rear fender and looks inviting when gas prices are high hehe I did find someone has loosened it once when parking in a motel lot and not sure if they siphoned any gas...

Not a bad idea on the gas cap, but I'm thinking another key for me to loose?

True, but I'd be more concerned with someone putting something "IN" the tank. Safer to cover the bike when an overnight is required.

Default Try a half cover, for trips

I got a half cover .... just covers the faring to the back of the trunk ... seat tank etc. is out of sight. Cheap too about $40 bucks, takes up much less room than a full trike cover.
