Need Hannigan LED Taillight Board

I replaced my Hannigan lights on my 2005 RSTD Trike with this taillight board and a smoke lens. Looks great

OK , if you don not care about the back off part then you will be fine
with those LED's as it is already built into the Hannigan board itself.

When I did what your doing I removed the old ones from Hanniagan
and put them into my 66 VW Beetle .

Now back to if you want them to flash as before you will have to get
a back off unit controller from http://www.customdynamics.com/street...taillights.htm

then you should be good to go !

Cougar: The funny thing is before my ride was triked I did have the "Back Off component" installed and then removed it because the riders behind me claimed they were confused as to what the hell I was doing, turning left, turning right or what.. Another words with all the flashing going on they became confused.. Mind you this was not just one person but several...
I am presently waiting to hear from Jim from Hannigan as to what they would recommend and hopefully I'll also hear from Larry to get some vibes from him too.. I kind of agree with you I think they would work just fine without the fourth wire, just hate to screw it up and toss away a couple hundred bucks as a learning experience. Boy would I get the stink-eye from my other half... Don't even want to go there.

Ok it's been a while since I did this but I do remember running into the same problem. Hannigan had a load equalizer I had to remove. I don't think it was required with the larger number of LED's in the new board. I installed a trailer wiring converter with a built in flash sequence when the brakes were applied. So in the end I completely rewired from the bikes stock wires under the fender to the lights themselves. For me it was easier to start from scratch then to keep trying to figure out what Hannigan did. Also cleaning up the wiring and sealing terminals with shrink wrap. Larry

Yes ! Larry, we did this about the same time and had I to do the same thing.
Remember we also had to add a resistor as well to make the running light dimmer
as well... its all coming back to me now LOL

Hannigans Tail Light board has the load equalizer built into there tail light boards.
At lest that how it was 5 or 6 years ago.

I sure appreciate both of your inputs but I'm still confused, but that's not to unusual for me..I found a wiring diagram that I used to wire my trailer several years back with no problems, I still have the trailer and tow it with my trike.. See attached. Maybe I'm all wet in trying to compare that diagram with the taillight diagram I just made up, but as you can see with the three wire upgradeLED's the directional signals come up short ? I realize the color codes really don't mean much, its what the circuit does that counts..

A couple of months ago my taillights were working fine except for the directional signals, I was told by the people who did the conversion that the problem was the inline wired "Load equalizer".. I found it located under the trike body, replaced it and all was back to normal.. I don't think this has to do with anything except that that wire did effect the turn signals..

Hannigan's response to my inquiry about an upgrade was that they knew of no one who has done this, but that was not unusual , the only time they get responses back is when they don't work, and that sounds understandable.. They also indicated that if I were successful they would like to be informed..

Anyway I realize its a very busy time of the year and I hate to bug you guys with this but I am still puzzled as you can see..
