Key fob batteries

Just want to REMIND anyone that has a KEY FOB that they must carry so that their bike will START. Keep an EXTRA Battery with you at all times.! just the other day, I stop to get a coffee on my way to work and when I went to start the Trike, Nothing! Nadda ,No go!.. very embarrassing to say the least....I now carry an extra one. somehow, by squeezing my key fob, and Cussing at myself and the bike; I got one more jump from it. No problems since putting in a NEW Battery. he he,,,,

Good idea. I usually carry two key fobs with me, but no way of knowing if just one failed.

I change the batteries in both fobs every spring, cheap insurance. One should also practice putting in the emercency code just in case you ever need to. A dead fob battery is not the end of the world if you know how to use the code and can remember it .

Also I have learned, keep you fob away from you trike when you have it parked overnight. With mine in the garage I set the key on the seat. It's draining the fob battery by linking with the system.

Could you tell me HOW to put in a emercency code.? or is it in the Manual ? which I have to find somewhere in my Man's room.....

Code is on a card that came with the owners manuals, instructions are in the security manual and can be found on the internet, but it takes some digging to find it.

As stated the code is on a card that you should have gotten with your owners manual. I think the dealers input the code and provide it to you since it is hand written on the card, or at least mine was. You enter it by pressing both turn signal buttons at the same time. I'm sure you can find the prodecure on the internet, but I doubt you find the code. A call to your dealer will probably get you the code since I think most of them use the same one on all their bikes, helps the service guys when you forget to leave the fob while getting service. I messed my dealer up and changed the code

Twice I left the fob on a shelf next to my T/G, [I'm a slow learner] And twice I called my wife to bring the fob to me, Like I said I'm a slow learner and got frustrated trying to figure out the code... under treat of bodily harm I now always keep [the fob] in my paints pocket.. What I think would be a better system if you go out of range of the fob the engine should shut down... Just some info ;; If you shut the bike off with the emergency switch while your out of range of the fob the bike will start without the fob...
