V8 Trike Cooling

Here is the scene:

*a V8 trike with a radiator mounted in the rear.
*The radiator has a single, large, electric fan on it.
*The trike operates in the normal range.

*The radiator and fan is moved to the front of the trike.

*Will the trike run...
1--The same temperature or
2--Run hotter ?

Please explain answer.

My first guess is that it would run cooler. Now what got me thinking is that all depends on the thermostat that's installed in the engine. I would imagine it will run at the temperature of the thermostat. I too run a v8trike with the radiator at the rear with a single electric fan. I also run a 160 thermostat on the motor and have not overheated the most it gets to is about 200. Hope this is of some help.

The trike should run the same temp but on another note all the heat that the raid. puts out while on the front will be blasted right on you.

I agree with Bruce, adding that the rear mounted radiator would cool to temp easier having more coolant in the system and the added cooling in the tubes, radiator to engine.

i built a trike this summer using a datsun 4 cyl engine. i mounted the radiator in the rear. i was able to make it shorter than it would have been with the radiator in the front. also i did not want the heat from the radiator blowing toward me.

did that on my 4.3 build. used an inline electric water pump and adapters on engine. works the nuts. The radiator is sideways with a slight scoop hardly noticeable at all, My engine is totally enclosed and i sit over it. The idea was to save on length also.

I've seen many pics of a rear radiator setup and will be going the same route. I will be running a 3.53T Detroit diesel. Not having that big radiator and fan in the way will be nice. I was thinking about using stainless exhauste tubing to pipe the coolant to the rear. I have a tig welder and know how to use it so setting up the plumbing shouldn't be a problem.*

What kind of tubing/pipes did y'all use to run the coolant?
