    Default Rain gear and gloves

I know there are opinions out there about as numerous as there are members on here. My question is what qualities/features should I look for in both rain suits and in riding gloves? I've looked at and read multiple reviews on multiple brands and styles. I mainly am looking to narrow the field for now to the features most desired.

One thing to consider with rain gear is the heat protection on the right leg for the exhaust being touched. I also like the two piece suit. Your gloves should be waterproof along with warm or electric heated. There is also the three finger gloves/mittens that are much warmer than regular 5 finger.

I have a Harley Two Piece Rain Suit and have never had any problems. Keeps me dry unless I ride through a monsoon or rain for hours on end. Has reflective material in it so it's more visible when riding at night and in bad weather. I also have a pair of Harley gloves I bought on sale last spring that do a great job in keeping my hands dry and warm when the temps are above 30 degrees. When the weather is colder I have Gerbing Heated Gloves which I have put some Leather Protector on and keeps my hand warm and dry.

Ditto on the HD two-piece rain suit. Have gators that go over boots, but haven't used them for quite awhile. Also, wear HD gauntlet gloves. I'm a riding advertisement for Harley-Davidson (lol)!!!

Try & look at the ski gloves that are going on sale about now. Waterproof & warm . They don't say anything about Harley on them, but do a great job for about 1/4 the cost.

Got caught in a Noah -esque monsoon in my HD hi vis rainsuit and wife in her comfortable Bass Pro Shops Frogg Toggs rainsuit. we got home and I had a little wet around my neck because I don't put my hood up under my helmet. She peeled off her Froggs and her clothes and had no DRY spots on her, just goose bumps. Needless to say, Mama wasn't happy and we soon visited the dealership to purchase her very own Hi Vis rainsuit. They ain't cheap but tnhey are good. I got gaiters and we both got gloves with rain covers. If you amortize the cost of a good suit over the life of the rainsuit, it is not very much overall and your Backseater will be much happier. My ears still ring.

Waterproof gauntlet gloves...I am happy with my Gerbings...I've only plugged them in twice, but they are a good warm glove, even when not plugged in.

On the rainsuit, I prefer the two piece. I want it to go on easily at the side of the road. Arms need to fit inside the gauntlet gloves. Pants need to have the elastic keeper that goes around the bottom of the boot to keep them pulled down. Pants need to have zippers in the legs that make it easy to put on with the boots already on.

I wear waterproof boots, so nothing needed there.

And everything needs to stay dry under the suit! What works for me is the Pro Sport "Dry Bones". But those did NOT work well for Mary. She has a Joe Rocket suit that fits her better.

Harley two pc is the best I ever used. I still use it even though I bought a gold wing.

I go with layers ... Jeans first and a t shirt. Next I have a set of frog togs ... probably 12 years old ... still waterproof ... over that I put on Colorado chaps (recently upgraded from leather) ... on then top I have gerbing jacket liner ... an fxrg jacket ... gerbing gloves ... On my feet gerbing socks ... Goodyear Waterproof boots.

The other morning I left home at 6:50 for a hundred mile ride for breakfast .. it was 29 degrees ... stayed nice and warm .... didn't put on frog tongs cause it wasn't raining ... but if it was would of been dry too. Coming home was 50 ... turned off the gerbings ... I like layers cause I'm covered from 20's to 110's, wet or dry

Ya gotta remember ... I only got my tg in dec 2014 .... I take any chance to ride it ... and no ... no coffee ... diet pepsi (coffee makes me take forever to get back, lots of stops and around here there aren't many of them. I can go out of the valley here West, East or North and it's at least 70 miles to anything ... south is about 40 miles) I did have an ulterior motive ... another tg owner wanted my stock 2015 air cleaner .... so I brought it to him. (He's an older guy who lives in the mountains and doesn't get out much)
