    Default Luggage space

Could/would someone who actually owns a slingshot post some photo's showing the actual luggage space(s) available. They look terrific and the price is right but for multi-day tours what space do you have? What will fit in the spaces?

I've too have been wondering about that. As large as it is there appears to be no room for a long weekend get-a-way.

I really wasn't paying much attention to the storage space while I looked at one a while ago.. There is a compartment behind both front seats.. Looks like they might hold a back pack in each.. I frequent two Polaris dealers, And only once have I seen one in the showroom.. The both say they sell them even before they can display them.. And I when I ask when will you get one in they say we got two coming in ; But their sold..

As noted there's good sized storage behind the seats with the passenger side being bigger due to the battery taking up some space behind the driver. Its in its own compartment so isn't exposed to anything in that storage area. The glove box is also quite large too. You can get in small-medium sized bags in them.
Another solution some owners have done was to purchase sissy bar bags, mounting them on the roll bars.

    Default Slingshot storage answers

I have been researching the Slingshot so I will pass on what I have found. The previous posts are correct in that there is a storage space behind each seat...it is primarily thought that they were big enough to at least store a helmet in each. The glove box I haven't seen open but it is lockable.

Corbin makes a serious looking dual luggage system that wraps around the rear of the Slingshot. They appear to be larger than the Corbin "beetle" bags that I had on my first Triumph 2300 cc Rocket. They are also lockable. Be forewarned they are not cheap, they run around $3,300 and they can be color matched to the Slingshot.

I will go back to the site and see if I can get some pics and repost them here.

    Default Slingshot Luggage

I just bought one. In addition to what has been posted above,

    there are several aftermarket

makers of bags and such. One makes a rack that installs/uninstalls quickly on each side of the tail fin. You can attach a bag there, or one on each side if you get two racks. I have seen

some guys with long soft duffle type bags laid across the tail section. If you plan on taking momma with loads of clothes for a week, forget about it.

Plenty of room if you travel alone.

About two weeks ago I found a dealer relatively near (62 miles) that had seven in stock. Three were doing demo rides. I drove down to see and try them on for size. The behind the seats luggage spaces are surprising larger than anticipated...about the same as my RSV saddlebags. However they would need (my opinion) the fitted luggage bags because of the tall space. The wife really liked them. So did I, except getting in/out on the drivers side is tedious. I assume one would learn the best way to accomplish that if you bought one. I would give the Slingshot top billing to replace my Venture trike IF it came with an automatic transmission so that the wife would be able to drive it also. Yes I know, many think wanting an automatic is just being lazy, that everyone should learn to drive a stick.

I don't mind those opinions they represent the thinkers opinions, not mine.

Nice looking ride and comfortable to sit in.

You can pull a trailer like the one I have for sale here on this site. They make a tow bar for the Slingshot. That trailer will give you lots of storage space in style.

They make a side panel that's 4" shorter than the stock one. I have a set of them myself and they do make it a lot easier getting in and out of the drivers side. Besides the Twist top its another of my favorite add ons to my ride.
There's several varieties of hitches that can be used to tow a trailer too. I build a receiver style with draw bar that is strong and simple. You can find my ad on them on eBay under Slingshot parts & accessories. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-2016-Po...hWWpP~&vxp=mtr
Yes Corbin makes a nice looking set of bags but there's been a lot of reported problems with the door fitments and sealing. They've altered the design 6 or 7 times now and still have problems. All I can say there is be very carful and if you do buy them get them from a dealer so if there's any problems they can remedy it.

At 81yo and new owner of a 16.5
LE for two whole weeks, I've found it relatively easy once you arrive at whatever technique works for you. Getting in, stick right leg in, put you left hand on hard section behind you and right hand midway down right side of seat; holding main weight with arms, put left leg in and let youself doing into the seat.

Getting out, make sure steering wheel is in top position, hand brake on. I lift my left leg out, and with my right hand on the hand brake and left hand on steering wheel, push/pull with arms to lift up and swivel right leg under steering and out.

Lot of words, but it gets easier all the time.

I finally got on one of these last week. I found getting in and out wasn't any problem at all. It is like anything else you will find what works best for you. Now I'm waiting for test ride, the dealer had three but wasn't offering test rides. The dealer told me that Polaris was planning a customer appreciation day and was going to bring sereral for test rides but they didn't have a date. I don't guess they want to sell one of these to me.

Default Enough space for Florida to Alaska

Only takes 15 seconds to get out my luggage set from storage space behind seat. No problem bringing clothes etc on a two week trip.

Just got back from a 4000 mile trip with my wife and a friend and his wife. He had a 2017 Slingshot and every other day I watched the trailer bonce all over the road. My friend put on a hitch that mounted on the swing arm and every bounce the rear wheel took it sent the trailer bouncing. I followed him on several trips with his Goldwing pulling this trailer and never had any problems. Just wanted to let others know that's something to think about if you are looking at a hitch that mounts to the swing arm. My friend is looking at building a bracket system that will mount under the trike. Has anyone seen anything like that?

    Default Bushtec Trailer

Bushtec makes a trailer that looks and pulls great. They make a hitch for the shot that hooks to the frame not the swing arm and also have the wireing harness. Trailer can be color matched to your slingshot. I needed one so my wife could have her walker with her and it fit with no problems. I rode to Tenn to pick it up and they installed everything for me. Great people there.

Then pulled it back to Las Vegas and no problems at all, Either with the slingshot or the trailer.

The model is the SS Crusier. Check their web site or their facebook page for pics or come out to the 3 wheel rally in Deadwood South Dakota in July. Ill be there with it.
