Don't let me catch someone with an American flag at half staff because Uncle Joe died. I try to graciously explain to them that the U.S. Flag Code dictates for whom and for how long American flags are lowered to half staff when someone dies and that our beloved flag was never intended as a personal grief indicator(even tho others think it should be).
BTW, if you're ever in doubt about whether your flag should be at half staff, check your local post office. They are notorious for handling their American flag correctly.

I agree with Sully that a size 11 boot up someone's a#$ will leave a good impression on the DA's that have no respect for what the flag means. As far as people using the flag as a person grief indicator that is usually solvable with a few "kind" words or education of the person responsible. Save you silver bullets for real terrorists and zombies not the few DAs that try and act like them, besides we all fought to protect the rule of law also right? I also believe if you shoot someone you would be charged with murder and then who's going to drive you Trike?
