Anybody plan on going? I understand there was a lot of trikes there last year. I am thinking about going.

Randy you might check it out see whats going on.

    Jerry

Jerry - yes, we plan to go. 100% as of now. I made a reservation at the First Gold several weeks ago (shortly after the Kerrville trip). I have never been to that part of the country, so really looking forward to the Deadwood trip.

When we were in Kerrville, I briefly talked to Clint about Deadwood, and I think he had a great idea about the trip there - taking the "western" route, through Raton NM, Colorado and Wyoming. It will be miserably hot in Texas in July, so any route that will avoid some of the heat sounds good to me. Regardless of the route, our plan as of now is that we are going.

Default Deadwood 3 Wheeler - not a stretch.

In 2015 the D3WR had 482 registered trikers riding in on 313 trikes from 32 states and Canada. (129 Spyders, 59 Hondas, 69 HD, 22 Slingshots and 34 Misc.) We are gearing up for more trikes in 2016 because D3WR has partnered with Brothers of the Third Wheel National Trike In. Who knows how many riders and trikes we will get but already to date there are 168 people registered - 69% of them that are new from last year. Due to the large number of expected trikes, the organized rides will be handled in a different manner - advocating small groups to destinations throughout the Black Hills area or riders can go out on their own and come back to Deadwood for social activities. If you want more info please email directly to teresas@firstgold.com. If you want to come and need lodging, consider calling Deadwood Central Reservations at 800-344-8826. They have listings of lots of hotels and campgrounds in Deadwood and in surrounding towns.

I attended last year, had a good time. was their 1st time always room for improvement,
so this year should be even better. I stayed at the koa last year just south of deadwood
was a nice clean place and the people were friendly, they also have a bus that goes back and
forth to town. this year I am staying at whistlers gulch, right outside of town.

Already have a big trip scheduled for this year (Maggie Valley and Davis WV). This looks like a possible trip for 2017...maybe a week or so before the rally to avoid the huge crowd.

    Default Deadwood 2016

    Hi all!
My husband and I are heading out to SD that very same week for vacation! We'd love to catch up with all of you and hopefully meet some fellow trike riders! I'll be on a black HD Road King converted trike, and my husband rides a Root Beer HD Ultra Limited two wheeler. We still haven't booked where we'll stay, we need to get on that. Looking so forward to vacation time! Hope to see you there!!
    Keep Smiling! :wave4:

    Default Deadwood 3 Wheel Rally

    Hi Fellow TT members,

It's been awhile since I posted anything on our forum. Hopefully I still remember how to do it and to add attachments, which hopefully might better explain what I'm trying to announce. For those of you that are considering attending the Deadwood 3 Wheel Rally, here's the website that tells all about it: www.d3wr.com
Due to attending the Sturgis Rally and hosting a ride last year, I was unable to attend last years event. That won't be the case this year however, as I officially submitted my registration today. I welcome everyone to stay tuned to this forum and especially this thread, as I've read posts by Teresa from First Gold Hotel & Gaming, (the host for the event) who will keep us well informed and does a wonderful job in answering your personal emails, should you have any questions or concerns. In closing I would ask Randy and Marge to make a sticky thread of this event, as I'm hopeful it will become one event that is regularly attended each and every year. As the T.O.I. Coordinator for SD, I hope to see many of you there! Ride Safe, as May is the National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Let's make it apply to Trikes as well !

    Regards,
    Paul M.

Attended the rally last year and had a great time. Yes there was a Corvette rally going on at the same time, but didn't see too many of them on the road while riding all through the Black Hills. We rode over Iron Mountain and saw NO ONE else on the road, in either direction. The number of 300-350 does sound about right, but only saw small groups out and about while there. We're going again this year because riding in the Black Hills without 200,000+ Sturgis rally attendees everywhere is something I'm really looking forward to again.

1200 trikes will be an exaggeration! Here's the latest report:
