Default 11 yr old Girl defended her home

Do you ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC,
    CNN, or ABC news?

Eleven year old shoots illegals in MT

    11 YR OLD SHOOTS ILLEGALS!!!!!

    BUTTE, MONTANA

Shotgun preteen vs. Illegal Alien Home Invaders.

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26,
probably believed they would easily overpower "home-alone" 11-year-old
Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.
It seems the two crooks didn't know two things: They were in Montana
and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.

Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the
front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and
grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to
get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point
blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He
suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left
shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death
    before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen
45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. The
victim there, 50-year-old David 0'Burien, was not so lucky. He died
from stab wounds to the chest.

An 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her
home and herself against two murderous, illegal immigrants and she
    wins. She is still alive.

    Now THAT is Gun Control!

Thought for the day: Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented
immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist. '

I like this kind of e-mail! American citizens defending themselves
    and their homes.

Really is a great story. Unfortunately, it is fake. Check this link from snopes.com for complete info.

    If this were true....

I guess I can understand your glee in the thought that someone (an 11 year old girl in this case) got to legally shoot two people dead. But how could this be a "feel good" story?

Even though they may have been thieves and in this country illegally, they were also both people and human beings who lost their lives. And an 11 year old girl would have to live with the trauma and guilt of taking those lives...for the rest of her life.

Tragic story yes, but not really anything to feel good about in my book.

Most folks, granted not all, that have lived through the trauma, etc. of a violent home invasion, harbor the general feeling that a dead criminal is a good criminal...

The story was just that... a story. Didn't happen. When some touching story makes its way around the internet since 2007, it is amazing that folks who keep forwarding this stuff don't check it out first. You can feel as sorry as you want for the poor illegals but they aint't real hoss.

And one more thing, here in Texas we have the Castle Doctrine... if someone is breaking into your home and you feel this is a threat to your life or property, it is your civic duty to put them into a grave. Don't know how things work where you live but any perp who is willing to break into a home while folks are there is a danger and society has the need to take them off the rolls.

    Just a personal opinion.

I an not a "hoss" George. Like you I am just a Trike enthusiast, and like you I have and occasionally express my opinion. I would not feel sorry for any thief who brakes into anyones home and gets themselves shot. But I would not choose to call a situation like this a "feel good" moment.

I value your opinion. I doubt any serious person who had to shoot someone in self defense or to defend their home would "feel good". Urban legends pander to the same emotions we get from watching movies where the hero is sympathetic and get's even with a villian who has wronged a family member like that old series of Charles Bronson Death Wish movies.

Anytime my wife hits me with a story that's--I'm going to call it 'too good to be true'-- or just sounds fishy, I tell her to Snopes it.

Gets proven untrue almost every time. She hates it.

I can tell you all a true story of a home invasion that happened right here in the county I live in, and to a person I know...

She is a retired school teacher, and he is a retired professor from a local college. They purchased a farm to 'get away from the hustle-bustle', and had lived there for several years before the home invasion happened.

One night, about 2am, they heard very loud noises from downstairs, then a man shouting. The husband got up, pulled his pistol from the bedside drawer, and went to the top of the steps. A man was standing at the bottom. He looked at the man, and told him to get out. The man told him "You can't make me leave my own house," and then charged up the steps at the professor. At this time, he fired the weapon and hit the intruder center mass. As a result, the intruder died.

Turns out the intruder was the son of the former owners of the farm. The man was drugged up that night and didn't know what he was doing. There isn't much doubt that his intentions were to take the gun from the professor, and most likely do harm to him and his wife.

In Kentucky, if you kill someone in a home invasion, you are clear by law. The professor and his wife went through a lot of emotional problems though. It took them about a year to work through it. They didn't even stay in the home for nearly a month. In truth, they might never completely recover. But it's not because of WHAT happened or the results...

They are more worried that it could happen again, and the next time it could be them that are killed.

I apologize up front to anyone reading this if it offends, or might feel insulting to them personally, somehow. It is not my intent.

However I feel good knowing an armed, concerned, citizen "neutralized" a real threat to society in Chitown.
    Happened just last night:

Police: Concealed carry license holder kills armed gunman-
CHICAGO (AP) — A customer with a concealed carry license shot and killed an armed man attempting to rob a neighborhood store, Chicago police said Sunday.

A masked man walked into the store and currency exchange about 7 p.m. Saturday on the city's southwest side, displayed a handgun and announced a robbery to an employee, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. The gunman next pointed his weapon at another employee and forced her to the back of the store.

The armed customer then fatally shot the man. It wasn't immediately clear whether the customer, who has not been identified, will face charges. Guglielmi said the case is under review by local prosecutors, but the preliminary details suggest that the customer was not at fault.
"We're looking at it as a self-defense issue at this point," he said.

Really appreciate any follow up to this story if you know of any as things unfold. Chicago doesn't give me warm feelings regarding doing the right thing in a case like this. I am surprised a local citizen actually had a carry permit as they seem to want to keep firearms out of the hands of the honest citizen.

wiredgeorge, it was an AP reported story, & the only other info I've found on it is as follows:
The dead guys name was Reginald Gildersleeve, 55, with a long arrest record who was out on bond . He had prior convictions for robbery. As expected, the dead guy's family says he could not have done what was reported in the story. They also say the customer who shot him should have tried to wound Reggie . Sounds like they are getting ready to sue the customer. For the record, I am not buying one word of what they said.
As far as I am concerned one bad guy is dead, and the others in the store are not physically harmed due to the quick thinking & decisive action on the part of the armed citizen. End of story.

In closing, I truly "feel good" reading about all that has happened in this case.
I will continue to feel good whenever I hear a bad guy or gal goes down for the count while performing badly in public when it involves threatening of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Agree totally. It is stunning that ANYONE would expect someone to shoot to wound. Heck, for all I know the hero of the story was trying to shoot the gun out of the guy's hand, just like they did back in the old western movies and was a poor shot. If you shoot at someone, I don't think it makes sense to shoot to wound because in a combat situation, that is unrealistic. Deadly force is just that.

The faster way to stop a bad guy from killing you, Is to kill them first..
And if you have any remorse about killing a bad guy , Then you shouldn't own a gun, And just wait for the coroner to put a tag on your toe.....

Under the extreme stress of a deadly force encounter, fine motor skills are greatly degraded and aiming for the Center of available Mass increases a persons probability of stopping the attacker. In those conditions it is unreasonable to believe a hand or leg can be purposely hit by aimed fire.

This only happens in Quentin Tarantino movies!

Totally agree... if the situation warrants using your gun the situation warrants deadly force. Wounding leads to law suits.
