Key fob battery

Just to keep thinks interesting. I thought the battery was dying in my pickups FOB. I carry 2 of those for truck also. Pried it open to check battery #. Turns out that wasn't problem. All 3 soldered points for positive side of battery clip had broken. Sometimes made contact. Sometimes not. Did some micro soldering surgery and got a new battery just because. Works again.

This gives me a great idea. I keep my key fob on a chain that I wear around my neck and under whatever shirt I am wearing. But rather than carrying both key fobs, I will carry an extra key fob battery (CR2032) in one of the pockets in the Tour Pac. Then if the battery goes dead while I am out on the road, I can put the new battery in and be good to go. And I think I will look for a good hiding spot to stash the extra key for the Tour Pac, trunk and ignition lock just in case I loose that while I am out and about.

I wear Hearing Aids and they give you a very small plastic container for your Battery which is close to the same size your Key Fob is. Mine hooks up to my key chain. Just walk into your local Belltone office and request one. They don't even check to see if you are a customer.....

Can't you just punch in your code of your fob don't work? I had to learn that trick early. Dealer gave me the wrong trike for the keys.

Yea i know the drill also....
But for me being Dyslexic it's easier just to carry extra battery's

Same thing happened to my husbands bike a couple of months ago. I went and bought extra batteries for him and myself, but the next dilemma was the tiny screwdriver to open the fob when we were out and about. I got 2 small eyeglass repair kits, and the extra batteries fit perfectly in the kit. They don't take up much space.

I change fob batteries about 10 times a day, some take a dime (or the new fob battery btw) and some take small Phillips screwdriver. Just make sure to get a set of JIS screwdrivers for the screws, they work much better on these tiny little screws.

Buy an extra battery and carry it with you. A lot cheaper and safer than being broke down along the road. When my battery went bad I was getting ready for a ride and was still in the garage, got my backup fob and was ready to roll.

Had my 16 TG about 9 months now (8,200 miles) and I just had to change my fob battery for the second time yesterday. Either I bought some really old replacement batteries or something is discharging it. I keep my I-phone shoved down in the same pocket and have to wonder if somehow that is messing with how long the fob battery is lasting.

Thats whats killing the batteries....The FOB should Not be in the same pocket [Or near] any phones or other FOB's.. Like car FOB 's...

I put my fob on a leather shoe lace and wear it around my neck. The only time it comes off is when I bath. There is nothing worse than going out get on the bike and it won't start cause the fob is in the house. My fobs are two years old and still going great but I have a spare battery in the trunk

Ill tell you whats worst...When you put the FOB on a shelf next to the Trike in your garage, Drive off stop somewhere' Then when you have to start it again, Flashing lights and no start... And whats even more worster, I did that twice..

That would be one way to carry it, but I can't take off my St. Michael and if I have both around my neck it will probably look like I have a third tit. Or worse yet, one of those medical alert call buttons......which my sons and grandsons would never let me hear the end of it.

But your suggestion got me thinking.....maybe I will secure it to my belt somehow so it is always with me but not close to phone or car fob.
