Default STALLION OWNERS- anyone know from what vehicle is the front wheel assembly?

I am at a stand still...........I have removed the entire wheel assembly...but have run into a couple of snags....I could not break loose the caliper pad retainer

bolts, even after applying a torch to try and melt the loctite holding them onto the rotor. I decided to remove the assembly from the rim and the machine shop

was unable to budge the outer seal with the fullest load possible. They decided NOT to try any further for fear of damaging the black housing surrounding them.

I have decided to replace the outer bearing on one, as the shop and two other friends said the other looked fine. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am trying to get this fixed so that we will be able to ride with those attending the Ormond Beach "Snowbird rally", the second week in Feb. Does anyone know

from what vehicle is this front wheel assembly...I thought I read somewhere on here, it was off a toyota FJ? or is it custom built from the factory?

    Thanks in advance !!!!

Call Motor Trike and talk to engineering.

I think the front wheel is made for the Stallion.

Sorry I need a picture that shows the bolts you are trying to remove. I can not see it in my mind to try and help.

    Default Gentleman

Spoke with Randy today and he said bearing should be easy to remove, but to ship it to him if no one local could remove it. Took it to a local machine shop and would not guarantee they could remove the bearing w/o damaging the housing so they declined to wok on it. One last place to try tomorrow and if nogo, guess I'll ship it to Texas and drive car to Snowbird meet.

Gorilla...having somw probs uploading my fotos...will try in next msg..

I had the same problem with mine. After a lot of heat and beating, they finally came out. Rick

Sorry I have never had the need to remove those. But it sounds like they are in there with green loc-tite. Strange that the machine shop could not remove them. Maybe they can drill them out and put new bolts in.

I've had mine apart but I didn't have the problems you are talking about. I did have a dealer replace the bearing when I bought my Stallion four years ago so it was taken apart then.

I disassembled mine when it was fairly new to replace the hubs (bad bearings) and those bolts were no problem. It is absolutely essential that the correct size allen wrench be used on the first attempt or the heads will be rounded out. As mentioned earlier, in this case I would just drill the heads off and replace the bolts.

Yes the front brake assembly is from a FJ and the rear are from a Ford 500. It's funny (not really) but those bolts fell out of one of mine so I replaced both bolts on both sides. I would say drill it out and put in new bolts. Got mine at ACE hardware.
