Hilary proposal for Gun Tax

C-SPAN Washington Journal hosted ATR President Grover Norquist this week to discuss a number of issues including President Obama’s fiscal year 2017 budget proposal and tax reform plans from the 2016 presidential candidates.
Focusing in on Hillary Clinton’s proposals, Grover illuminates her support of a 25 percent national sales tax on guns. Clinton was asked by then-Sen. Bill Bradley (D-N.J.) if she supported the imposition of a new, 25 percent national sales tax on guns. Clinton emphatically endorsed the tax, stating: "I am all for that."
The implications for this tax would harm millions of firearm and ammunition related jobs across the country. Her decision to support a national sales tax on guns is a clear attempt at gun control through other means.
Grover also illustrated the changing electorate and how it relates to gun ownership as more and more Americans have concealed carry permits:

Ohhhhh this is going to get interesting.

One thing I noticed at a gun show this past weekend was a whole lot of people who have been FFL dealers in the past are now declaring their sales as "private sales". Ask one fellow I've bought several weapons from over the years why he's reverting to "private" sales. Paperwork !!!! Now, the possibility of tax paperwork and reporting....

Am going over to Okla City the later part of March. They are having a big gun show at the time I'm there so planning to see what's on the menu. Wonder if I'll see the same trend over there. Before I go I'm going to check into the "private sales" laws pertaining to transport over state lines. Long guns no problem, hand guns BIG problem, have to be shipped to FFL.. But what about a "private sale" hand gun.

This is the so called, as I understand it, gun show "loop hole", "private sales"....

If this trend continues I'm fearful the Govt boys will start stepping in big time. To get their paper work and now tax records and collections.

This is another reason to vote Republican. I wouldn't vote for that skank if she was the only candidate... I supported and defended the Constitution for 30 years and now these liberals want to dismantle it piece by piece.

She's advocated a gun buyback program to control guns also.

The Federal government already has a tax on firearms and ammunition.It's called the Pittman /Robertson Act. If my memory serves me correctly we pay 11% Federal tax on all the firearms we buy...............

The purpose of this tax is just for another tax?? Any mention of what the tax will be used for?

Aside from the obvious of another way of "controlling" guns, this, so called gun tax will make the cost of guns more difficult for the middle and poor classes to own them. These are just the people who need them the most!

Once again, Hillary embraces the minorities, but really attempts to harm them.
