I have 3 radios that came up for renewal. The bill was for $450 . So I called them to speak with a real person. The first rep stood her ground, even after threatening to cancelling due to limiting funds. Told her I will think about it. The second rep did some bending, but not enough for me to be paying for the service. Told her I would think about it also. The third rep felt my pain, she even gave me excuses as to why I would quit as to enter it in the system to give me the $99.00 deal as advertised, per radio per year, as long as I paid in full for the year. With tax and royalty fees came to $112.00 per yr per radio. So don't give in on the first, second , or even third rep. Keep calling, play stupid, and eventually you will get the $99.00 deal. Worked for me.

When I got my first XM radio subscription it was about $35.00 per year and they gave a slight discount if you paid for 2 or more years up front. I have enjoyed being able to travel anywhere and never have to fiddle with the radio looking for the music that I enjoy.

I was lamenting that the tri-glide not come with Sirius/XM standard. I finally read the manual and saw that I can "provide my own tunes via phone, MP3 player or thumb drive. I tested it yesterday with a couple albums on a 8 GB thumbdrive -- it was so easy even I could do it.

I will not renew my subscription to Sirius/XM.

With my Tri=glide i never used the radio, or the disk... I just use an I-pod...
With my truck it came with a years free Sirius .... When the year was up they would prompt me that the year was up... Eventually they sent me a 99 dollar renewal coupon.

I have had XM service Long before it became Sirius XM. I learn the best way to deal with the company is to be upfront very quickly. I have been able to secure service for $25 for five months and renew it for over the last four years five months at a time. I simply tell the first person I talked to that if this is not renewed at this price I will cancel my service so please turn me over to the retention department. When I speak to the person in the retention bureau, I tell them the same thing.

I did have one person somewhere years ago want to give me an argument about it and I simply said okay cancel my service now. She said okay and then came back online after about 30 seconds and said they agreed to continue my five month promotion for $25 per receiver.

I enjoy the service but with plenty of tunes on my iPod I will never pay the retail price.

Both of my receivers are due to end their promotions on May 15. I will call the day before and get than my standard statement. If they agreed to the terms I will continue to be a customer if not I will cancel.

I have 5 units also, One in truck, 2 cars, boat and HD. Every year they come up for renewal it's with an increase. I simply call them and tell them, look how long I've had this service, I want to pay the same price, After they ck they say OK. That's why I still have them.

when I had it I got them down to 77.00 plus tax did that for 4 years then last time I just cancelled don't travel as much as I used to so don't need it

I've been doing that same thing with the 5 months for $25 for the past 6 years. Once they said no so I cancelled and less than 24 hours later they called and renewed again. Hey when you're retired or close to it every dollar should go into trikes, toys and having fun that possibly can.

I just renewed mine for 5 or 6 months, I don't remember. I'm sick and tired of going thru all this bs everytime the renewal comes up. I'll probably cancel next time. Every time the renewal comes up is like buying a car and negotiating a price.

I am only paying like $99 a year ... might be kind of high, but I love "The Message", so I guess it's worth it.

I have two radios and this renewal they wanted $340.00 for a year, while I love having it, I cancelled because I couldn't negotiate a better deal. I'll wait for one of those "We Miss You" please come back for $XX.XX a year...

Service in our car was set to expire and be renewed at $200+ a year. Called to cancel a few days before expiration, they pitched all the channels - about 140- I'd get for that price. I regularly listened to 3 maybe sometimes once in a while 4 stations in the last year for $99 and fees. They offered to extend the $99/year, and when I declined they came back with $50/month including fees. Huh? That's the same price!
Sirrus pitches 140 stations for that price. I am using 3/140th of that, the numbers just don't add up.
Cancelled Sirrus - I have more than 5000 songs on the card in my phone and can add more, plenty of gigs data to use for Pandora, PC radio, iHeart Radio, etc. not to mention over the air radio.

I can't justify paying that much to listen to music. I pay enough form my cell phone each month so I just use that to listen to Slacker Radio or other FREE music apps thru the AUX on my trike stereo....works fine for me.

Talk about confusion .
Only reason for renewing the units, my area is a dead spot for any free stations. My garage only picks up a hip-flop station. MP3 is good, but don't have the energy to add-update new stuff.

Got home from work last night and there in the mail was a "We Want You Back!" letter from Sirrus. The offer is 6 months for a total of $30 - $5/month. (That includes fees and tax). Much better than the normal price, and $40/year better than the offer of $99/year they gave me when I called and cancelled.
We go to Minnesota to visit family 5 or 6 times a year, and Gloria really likes listening to the old radio shows like Jack Benny, Yours Truly Johnny Dollar, The Shadow and such. Keeps her, and me, entertained on the 600 mile trip up there from SW Missouri. Looking at it from a cost/benefit perspective, is it worth $5.00/month to keep her happy while confined in a car for 9 hours a dozen times this year?

Sign me up.

It's that time again

So as being a year older and still communicating with my grand kids, they showed me how to use I-hart and Pandora from my phone and plug it into the trike and 🚗.

Had 3 subscriptions b4 , only kept one, . The deals they offer when you just say NO!

The Prowler we just purchased has the navigation option that includes weather and traffic information if you sign up with the XM stuff. Thought about it a bit and decided we didn't need the service. I rarely listen to music and our smart phones hve weather and traffic information most places we go that is probably more up to date. Even the navigation will go out of date fairly quickly. There again the smart phone will provide up to date information.

Tell me how you use Pandora and plug it in thru the trike. I tried and just couldn't get it. Jim
