Titling a homemade trike in Florida?

runaround is all im getting. No one at DMV knows jack shiet. I have been back and forth with them. Since i have legal fl title to trike even though title says its a bike that they cant change #s and as far as they are concerned im legal. They said if i had no #s and or title to #s and had bill of sale they could do new vin and inspection. WTF . I spent several hours back and forth with concord DMV and lots of phone calls..... I need to hook up with a NH trike owner that has gone threw the process cause as of now im on hold for new vehicle #s lol.

Now there is a guy with a factory renegade trike i talked to and he says he has a heck of a time getting a inspection sticker for it and I have no problem for a home built.... NH is so messed up

Are you trying to register it as something different than what appears on your FL title?
If it is still powered by the motorcycle engine that the title covers, then you don't need to register it as a trike.
If you are insuring it for any coverage above basic liability, then you will need to present the additional paperwork for the accessories you need covered above & beyond whatever the 2 wheeler has/had from factory.

If you are trying to register a trike built from a motorcycle frame that you have title for, that is a car/4 wheel powered vehicle, you can get a State of NH VIN assigned to your trike.

I'm running a DMV issued VIN on my "home built" VW powered trike that I got inspected 3 years ago.
Its actually not too hard to get it done in 1 day if you have the motivation to travel a bit.
Mondays @ Dover Point, they inspect & issue state of NH VIN decals.

(Check the times, as I believe there is only a 2 or 3 hour window when the inspector is there)
Bring all paperwork; receipts, bill of sale(s), etc., & your trike on a trailer.
I believe they charge $10 to do the inspection, & then you take the paperwork inside where they process it for addtional fees.

If you're not near Dover, I believe all other DMV satellite license/registration offices in state have 1 day per month when the "Inspector" visits the location.
20 years ago they would come to your shop/home to do the inspection, but they don't anymore.

I suggest you go to: www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/dmv/forms/index.ht (not sure why this doesn't appear as a link, but if you copy & paste it you'll get there), then to the Salvage Inspection Locations section for info on times & locations for the inspections near you.

Yes , trying to change to homemade trike. Im trying to get a vin for home made trike. Im registered and driving the trike now as a honda motorcycle converted to trike with Chevy drive. been that way for three years now. I would like to have a vin # saying trike. cant understand why concord cant help me. Im Still confused . lol

Your trike should qualify for a state issued VIN, being it is powered by a car type engine & is probably hand made.
To get DMV "blessing" on it you would have to have paperwork showing where the parts came from. Typically they want a title or bill of sale depending on the year, for the frame. They also want the same for the engine/drivetrain components.
NH doesn't currently recognize "trike" as a body type for registration purposes, so having the DMV inspection is really not necessary UNLESS you get stopped driving it and the officer doesn't believe it is truly a "Honda" motorcycle.
Next time the registration is due you could go to the town hall & request the agent to get the registration to show # of cylinders as 8.
Other than that, why bother doing anything if you're getting by in registering it as a Honda motorcycle?

Nothing on this trike looks Honda other than the faring .lol No hijack , love info . I will ask clerk to change to 6 cylinders as it is a v6 and i think some Honda's are v6.
