Tactipac Fusionpac holster

Ordered a holster for my pistol on March 15th and finally got it in the mail today.It was worth the wait, because unless something goes drastically different than it is right now, it's the most comfortable IWB holster I've ever worn. It was expensive ($80), but it seems as if it's going to be the real deal. Below is a long video I made trying it on with several different types of clothing. It's made longer because in the middle, my daughter Raeden came into the kitchen and wouldn't leave. I got all kinds of hugs and kisses, but just decided to leave it in the video. Bare with the goofiness.

I'm adding a little extra to my previous video with a closer up look at the holster. I'm giving some of my initial impressions both positive and negative. I won't recommend it to be bought, just give my impressions. So far, it's very comfortable. But comfort isn't everything. For some reason or other, these vids are publishing to YouTube a little bit fuzzy. They look a whole heck of a lot better when I see them on my iPad. Sorry, I'm new at all this.

Dang ... scared me for a moment ... almost didn't watch the vids ... thought you where gonna changed clothes in them ... ... not sure I'm up for that ... I still have to turn off the lights when I change my own clothes.

Having said that, I did try to watch them ... the first one didn't work for me ... the second one did ... not sure why the first one just shows what looks like a kitchen.

That's because it was in a kitchen. That's effectively the biggest room we have to do anything in. Next time I'll do the video naked.

I want to make it absolutely clear to everyone out there that is thinking of ordering a holster from Tactipac--it took 16 weeks to the day from the time I ordered to the time it hit my mailbox. It's the nature of the beast. I've noticed the last few days that the order to ship time has decreased by quite a bit--from 16 weeks to 12 weeks according to the Tactipac website. This is quite the improvement.


As is explained on the shipping schedule, their order volume is increased and decreased by variables they can't control. I'm guessing this would be things like mass shootings and presidential proclamations. I can understand him not hiring extra help with the possibility of having to let these people go when orders are down.


Would I have liked to have gotten my holster sooner? Absolutely! But being totally honest about it, it didn't hurt me one bit to wait. I've received what so far to me is a high quality product.


OH! And one more thing I didn't mention in my review...my pants tend to slide up and down on the kydex when I'm untucked. When tucked this isn't a problem. But I rarely if ever tuck my shirt in. I saw on another post here where someone suggested skaters tape that would help with this issue. Skaters tape is basically sand paper with a sticky back. Once I get my 2 week trial out of the way, I'm going to try that along with tightening the retention of my holster.


Yup, I know this is a long post, but I was afraid I would forget half the stuff I wanted to say if I waited the full week to give my impressions in another video. One last thing--I mentioned 'for the people of Glock Forum'--that's who this video was originally for. But I thought the peeps here at Trike Talk might be interested in something like this as well.

Okay .... You folks may end up being the most informed group of people yet about this holster from my point of view.


Anyway, I got an email this morning from Anthony Battaglia, owner/operator of Tactipac, regarding my YouTube videos, and he told some things I feel I need to correct. First, he asked that if I decide to keep it (heavily leaning that way anyhow), do NOT use a hair dryer on it to try to tighten the retention. He said they are purposefully made that way, so that when the elastic tightens up, it will pull the pad the kydex is on tighter and will thus tighten the retention. He's right. I cinched the Velcro up a little more while on my body, and it tightened the retention factor considerably. He also said that while a belt isn't necessary, a belt in the pants will also help with the retention.


For those of you that say "Bummer, I wanted to have it on without wearing a belt", you still can, you just need to tighten up the elastic accordingly. If you look at my shorter video, you'll see that I don't have mine cinched up very much. Well, I corrected that, and retention is very good.


Another thing he asked me to mention--DON'T DO THE SHAKE TEST LIKE I DID!! He says he's afraid someone might get hurt or killed if the gun drops and hits the floor. In my defense, my weapon was on a bed, and I literally turned it upside down while it was still in contact with the bed.


If I remember, all this stuff will be in my one week anniversary video, to record for posterity. I might just read it right from this post.

After a week of wearing the holster at least 8 hours a day (and often more), here is my follow up review with my opinions of it.
