I test rode a Canam RT - the other day. Kinda impressive. As much as I love my Honda (Motor Trike Conversion) I really like the ride of the RT. Was wondering if any else has ever test rode the Canam ? And what you thought.

Stallion #406 // 2013 Tri-Glide
I rode one 3 yrs ago and it was fun . Really quick steering . Rode it when the wx was really hot and the heat cooked my boot but I'm sure the newer ones are better. I'm getting older now and can't wrench on things much so the high cost of oil changes and other maintenance needed I went to Goldwing trike. And then the clearance on it won't let me get up the driveway. Other than that I came close to buying one. Had tested a Triglide also. Heat was my biggest issue and solid axle. Maintenance was 3 or 4 trips to dealer a year so didn't buy it either. Virg
i road a 2014 can am spyder rt could not keep it going streight down the road from one side of the road to the other. my wife was on the back for 10 minutes and had to get off. her back was really hurting her. she rides on the back of or goldwing trike all day long with no trouble. she said please don't sell our trike. if you want to learn about the can am go to spyder lovers fourm. you will learn the good and bad about them. good luck.
Before y'all do anything go try a Sling Shot...I have been riding two wheels since 1959 & that includes Cushman's / GL1000's / GL1500's / GL1800's both bike & trike..I have rode 49 states & 8 provinces of Canada from my home in Hayden, Al. But this Sling Shot is a blast to drive (not ride) it is like a cross between a go-cart & a roller-coaster.
Sounds like the Spyder you rode needs a good Laser Alignment. From the factory Spyders are notoriously out of alignment. I know.
I ride a 2013 ST that was hard to corner and couldn't keep straight on the hwy. Laser Alignment and BajaRon sway bar corrected the issues. Check out the SpyderLovers.com web site for more info about alignment. Laser is the only way to go.

I'm on my second Spyder RT now with a 2014 RT Ltd. I needed to go to 3 wheels for physical balance issues with my wonky ears, so I started by trading in my 2008 K1200LT on a 2012 RT. I liked the ride, much different from a 2 wheeled machine of any kind. It's been described to me to feel like piloting a snow machine, though I haven't ridden one. Heat was an issue with the Rotax 998 motor, but the 3 cylinder 1330 engine in mine pretty much solved that. I have had issues with both front and rear tire wear but I got that under control now. As much as I like the Can Am Spyder I've been thinking about a Roadsmith GL1800 trike now. I'm looking for easy maintenance, excellent reliability and more legroom for me. I've always said I wouldn't keep the Spyder past it's 4 yr warranty and that is up next year. With all the electronics and labor needed to change the oil, rear tire, etc.
I think the Goldwing is the way to go. I should have kept my 2005 Goldwing but......
All of the below are now gone....

3 times i went to test ride the Slingshot... .And 3 times i didn't bother to drive it. For me it was just too difficult to get in the drivers seat..I'm 71 and have no trouble trowing my leg over my Tri-Glide, Or my Victory Gunner... But the Slingshot thats a different story... Couldn't even get my left leg over the bottom roll bar so i could sit in it..
