Installer in iowa

Well after doing much research. I believe I have decided to go with a motortrike phoenix for my 99 goldwing SE. And after reading a lot of information on this forum. Many on this forum say that a good installer is very important. So was wondering if anyone from Iowa would recommend a good motortrike installer. Preferably here in Iowa.

Not just very important, the MOST important. I was just brought a late model GL1800 Roadsmith trike to check out that was bought online out of Florida. The buyer said it handled weird and was making noise in the front end and seemed to lean to the right. He was about to take a long trip with his wife and was concerned so he brought it to me. I found that three of the four pinch bolts securing the forks in the upper and lower triple trees were completely missing. The steering stem nuts were hand tight. How it had not caused an accident was a miracle.

Another GL1800 Champion trike was brought to me Sunday that was also I recent purchase and again, the buyer has a trip out west planned with his wife. The complaint was the front end shook when the front brake was applied. This one had a lot of play in the front end as well and will be pulled down and checked and repaired. There are dealers letting trikes out of their shop that are not safe. I had one that left a very well known factory installer a while back that was the same situation. The high volume, crank em out dealers may have great prices, but they get in too big of a hurry and miss things. Check your trikes carefully folks!

Yes, he's telling the truth on that. I had gotten trikes that were poorly done, probably never test ridden after installation, accessories never worked right (a fuel pump that worked oddly) and just not paying attention to detail by the person doing the work.

While not in Iowa, my Motortrike installer is in Glenwood Mn, L & M sales. They have been doing it for many years. They are not a brand name dealer just trike installers and sold Stallions.

While taking a tour of the Motor Trike plant last year I noticed several kits were being prepared for shipping to Main Street Bikes and Trikes in Granville, IA. That's located NE of Sioux City. I commented to the pretty lady giving the tour that I was a little surprised so many were being shipped to Iowa and she told me that this installer does a lot of MT conversions. I can only assume they must be doing something right. You may want to check them out. I think you will be pleased with the MT Phoenix kit. We had our family heirloom 1990 GL1500SE converted with the IRS and rake kit for my wife. She loves it!

Where is Iowa are you located? I am buying my EZ Steer from Zook on this forum and these guys are going to install. They do a ton of trike builds also.
