Default Dont know how to title this post..

Late this afternoon i had to pick up some bananas at a market a few miles from home.. So i park the Trike in the parking lot, Go into the store pick up a few bananas pay for them and go back to the trike" It took less than a minute. I always leave my helmet on the seat' And when i got back to the Trike i noticed an envelope under the helmet.

My first thought was it was from someone i might have ticked off, At one time or another. But when i picked up the envelope 'Hand Written on It was, You are a beautiful person, Obviously from someone who doesn't know me.. And inside the envelope was a hallmark card with a dollar bill And Blessings written on it. And all so allover the card... Has this happened to anyone else..

I think i'll buy a lottery ticket with that dollar...

I like this idea and try to do it when I can!!!

You cant always repay someone for the help you revive from them so I try to "Pay it Forward' as much as I can.
When I help others and they try to pay me I just tell them to "Pay it forward"

Just think how it would be if everyone did that.

People used to pay me in beer

Very timely discussion, yesterday I took my mom to the Dr. She is in her upper 80's and generally of poor health but with unbelievable spirit. What she goes through each day to stay alive would cause most people to give up. I also took her neighbor who's also is in her 80's (lower 80's) both lost their spouse at about the same time. That when they really got to be close. Neighbor lady usually goes with us when we go to the Dr. as she helps with some of moms issues that are difficult to deal with in public.

Neither mom nor her neighbor enjoy cooking anymore and both have to be watched to make sure their eating and eating properly. Thus when we're out they pick the restaurant and I'm assured they will get a good (for them) meal. Yesterday as we was getting ready to leave the restaurant and getting mom in her wheelchair we mentioned to our waitress we hadn't got our meal ticket. She said it had been paid for. Any questions I asked about "who" so we could Thank Them for their kindness. The waitress said the person made the request if we were able to do so just to

    Pay it forward.

We have a trip to another Dr. in a about 2 weeks. We will eat out again, but this time while eating we will be looking for that right table that we all agree on to meet our obligation and "Pay it Forward". If we don't find it on this journey we will continue till we do. Sorry I got so wordy with my post but when something like this happens to you it really restores your faith in people.

About 2 years ago I started complimenting older ladies that look like they put forth an effort to look nice. I don't mean expensive clothing, just an effort to not look like they just rolled out of bed.

I especially do if they are eating alone because they may be missing their departed spouse. An elderly lady eating solo one Sunday morning was so happy that she followed me out of the restaurant after breakfast to compliment the bikes and say hello to the rest of the group. She was still waving and smiling when I looked in my rear view mirror.

    A random act of kindness.
I always say to members of the military when I am shopping and they are in uniform, "Thank you for your service".

Every last day of work before christmas I would always buy the guy behind me in line lunch.
After I got laid off the new job I went to gave us 200.00 in food gift certificates. so I go to the cashier with my stuff, and I hand 1/2 of them to the lady in front of me. Needless to say she was out done... Never forget that one.

Later when the girls came along Every christmas eve me and my daughters and I go out for breakfast. After Breakfast we always give the cashier my credit card then hide in the store. We tell the cashier to pay the next 5 food bills.

The looks people have on their faces is priceless. and yes a lot of tears.
Later as they got older, and jobs, they take 2 or 3 of their own...
Nice to know I handed something down to them that they will carry on with

I can remember when I was on active duty and having lunch someone would pay for my meal. Sometime it was the manager of the resturant I was in and then sometime someone would buy my lunch and I wouldn't know who. From then I have made it my duty to buy a military person a lunch when I can. Paying it forward works for me.

I try to always thank our military personal active and retired. The other day my wife and i were having lunch an a female sheriff had walked in to get lunch, before i could get up to buy her lunch some else had so i at least thanked her for her service and her dedication it really seemed to brighten her day.At Christmas the company that my wife and I work at gives us a big food box each,my one neighbor was unemployed an having a rough time of it,so we gave him one of the boxes and donated the other to a church pantry. Now i have never personally had any stranger say or do any act of kindness for me and that's okay because when i do something for a stranger or neighbor I do it because I know in my heart its the right thing to do.

After the recent thread concerning long post out of respect for the members I didn't dare add my quote to this post but to those who are interested see post #9 above.

Well, my mom is still battling and we've had several trips to several different Doctors but have never found a pay it forward candidate.

Mom fell and broke her hip about 4 weeks ago. She spent 4 days in hospital then moved to a home with long term rehabilitation available. Moms roommate hasn't had a visitor since mom has been admitted. When asked about family and why no visitors she makes excuses for them almost in a manner of defending them so others won't think badly of them.

i decided this would be a pay it forward that wouldn't count toward the one mentioned in post #9. I have tried to see that she gets everything she wants that I can provide her. She Is on no diet restrictions and can eat anything she wants. Anything we take mom we take her also and we have tried to get her other things not usually provided that will help make her stay a better one. I visit mom and her roommate almost daily.

Seems like a good idea. Gonna have to look for opportunities display those kindnesess.

But I have made it a practice to do what I've seen many of you here suggest: When I see a young soldier I'll look up his server and take care of their check. It makes me remember the times when we came home and am so glad todays young troops don't have to endure that.

There's a diner I used to got to alot. If you were military in uniform you ate for free. Don't know if they're still dolng it or not. But nice gesture.
