New member, Old triker

Hey Gang, glad to find this forum. I built a VW trike years ago, rode it a while and sold it. MISTAKE! I have regretted that sale ever since.
So now it's on my bucket list to build another when I retire in a few years. I've begun my search for parts & components and it didn't take long to realize "it ain't gonna be as simple this time". Back in the 70's it was easy to find beetles sitting around in barnyards to be had for $100. Not so now days.
Well, enough rambling for now. Looking forward to having all you guys for your knowledge and advice.

Remember, when searching for parts, Craigslist.com is usually your friend. You might even find a VW trike that needs complete makeover.

As a current VW powered trike owner, here's my story, compressed for easy reading:
I built mine from "scratch" over a period of 4 years. I could have built it faster but life got in the way.
Building mine was a project I fell in love with, & continued with, until I got it on the road.
If I had to do it again though I'd probably look for an already started project that best meets my style, that the builder has given up on or is about to give up on.
This tilts the game in your favor, as the cost/price you pay is most times, lower.
We like pictures here and can potentially give you pointers in your build, if you want opinions!
As already stated, Craigslist is almost invaluable in finding what you need to build yourself a trike. Best of luck in your build.
