After checking, the wire was rubbing under the tank and frame as well as where the wire was going down to the plug. I put on a split wire cover that ran the length of the wire. Thanks for the heads up. I did not know this was an issue and would of never had the mirror and flashlight looking under the tank where the wire is located. Jim

I checked mine over the weekend prior to riding and sure enough it was worn into the wire quite a bit. I put a small piece of black tubing around it and a zip tie. Thanks for the heads up.

Update.....looked a bit more closely today and yep. There's a rub mark on the wire. There is also a rub mark on the back cylinder spark plug wire too. I think it's rubbing against the wind deflector. Not as bad as the front and I caught both early thanks to this thread.

It's NOT NEW but some have never heard of this before. I have a 14 tri Glide and some friends have other models with the same issue. IT"S worth a look for you to do this before it rubs thru your wireor your paint. Sorry I didn't make this more clear yesterday but I was in a hurry to get a hold of some of my friends across the country. I cut a piece of clear tubing and stuck it around my spark plug wire. It's a real snug fit so its' not going any place any time soon. I've talked to guys from Mi, Minn, Fla, Texas, Calif, Ill, Wis, New York, Ohio, and NONE of them heard about this old issue . I posted this to help anyone that doesn't know about this issue and get it fixed. Going to talk to the shop where we go to this Saturday and see what he knows about it.

Thanks for the heads up on the spark plug wire Rick. Just got a 16 and sure enough, the wire is rubbing on the tank up above. Found a 5/16 inch piece of fuel line to insulate the wire with. Should work just fine. Just got back to sunny Tucson and ready to put some miles on the new motorcycle.

Same here on my 2015 Triglide. Forward cylinder plug wire with as 1/4 x 1/8 scuff from rubbing against the tank. Thanks for the heads up.

Checked my '15 Tri Glide. Good size spot wearing in front wire, not to mention a spot on bottom of tank. Went to dealer, Salem Harley, OR. Service mgr hadn't heard - neither he or others there pay any attention to Trike Talk - of a recall yet. He did agree to replace them owing to warranty. But I opted for the Screaming Eagle so he just charged me the difference between stock & Eagle($14). I'll place the wire in some flex conduit & route it lower to stay out of fuel tank tunnel & below bottom of tank. Thanks for the heads up!....JE

I guess I'll have to pull the tank bolts in the back and look. The wire is so tight I can't move it. Must be real tight under the tank. Is this normal?
