    Default Very curious about Hp and torque numbers on a stock 103ci Freewheeler

    Good morning, all.

    My curiosity has been elevated after chatting with a few folks this past weekend. Might any of you good folks know the Hp and torque numbers at the rear wheel of a 103ci Freewheeler? I'm having no issues with my girl whatsoever, but I am curious as to what she actually puts out where the rubber meets the road.

    Stock 103 puts out about 105 for torque that's 2015..

    I would say more like 96 on torque and 74 on horsepower.

    Thank you much, trike. She seems fine, truly, but I really would like to get a bit more out of her. I'm still reserving judgement on the 107 until more folks are riding it, and, truly, I love the rumble of my twin cam. I'd rather upgrade the 103 to the 110 than go with a brand new engine. I'm sure most will think I'm a bit of a loon, but it's part of my charm

    Thanks much, Zammy. Your findings seem to confirm trikeharley's numbers. Not bad, I suppose, but the 110 upgrade is looking more and more appealing

    Don't go by two wheeler dyno numbers. There is a lot of drivetrain drag on a trike so the numbers will be lower. I saw a run that had cams and the numbers were 105 tq/90 hp at best.

    I believe the 103's are putting out between 100-105 ft. lbs. AT the crankshaft...but at the rear wheels it is closer to it is going to be closer to the high 70's to the low 80's.

    This can be greatly enhanced by a good Stage I. You should be able to get up near 100 ft. lbs.

    Here is a LINK with a lot of info on Stage I Upgrades.

    There are HUGE variances in what people experience after a Stage I upgrade...this is because they are Not all Stage I's are the same.

    Most folks running a "True" Stage I upgrade are getting close to the same power that folks typically get with a run of the mill Stage II upgrade!

    I was hoping you'd chime in, Kevin

    Thank you so much for the figures. As I just found out this morning the 110ci Stage V Tire Shredder will void your engine warranty, I'm back to simply jazzing m'lady up with a Stage I. If I wasn't so concerned about my warranty, I'd go with a complete V&H upgrade (heads, mufflers, intake, Fp3), but it seems the EPA has given many new Harley owners a huge "up yours" because the Screamin' Eagle is apparently the only Stage I you can do that doesn't void the warranty. Just one more instance of our government's ineptitude regarding regulatory sanctions.
