Glad your dealer is stepping up, really surprised that MOCO is not, oh well, they sell the bikes and then forget you.

Hope you get the FOB issue worked out.

Harley Davidson did what they are contractually required to do under the warranty.

They can do no more. To do so would set a precedence. One that could be costly. As an investor in the company, I would sure raise hell at the annual meeting if they had. The litigation would be endless.

I am really surprised at the quiailty control here, must be slipping somewhat, I know they always say wait 2 years after a new design to buy to get the bugs out, but d--m, with the price of these you would think they would be better at it. Again, the number of issues in relation to the number sold worldwide is miniscule.

Do not loose sight of the fact that many of these components are outsourced.

They are sub assemblies. There is no way in hell for the MoCo to check each and everyone.

Nor, can the OEM. They check X number from each production run.

If they pass QC, the entire lot ships.

Thanks for understanding MikeyTx. As you go to your investor meeting, how about raining some hell about quality control. There problem was the assembly person did not put the parts on he or she was paid to do. They signed off on putting the parts on but didn't. To me, that is just not acceptable. Yes the MOCO wasn't obligated to do anything but fix it. But sometimes it is doing what is right no matter the cost. Customer satisfaction is having the customer come back and sending friends to purchase. Companies that forget about customer service soon die even if they make a good product. Is my hardly superior to every other bike out there? No but it is the bike I want to ride.

Is it the only bike I can ride?

No...I can pay cash for several others if I wanted to.

But I bought a Harley.

I paid my money on the line and I expected the product I bought to be without flaw or blemish.

It wasn't. Yep they fixed it...maybe.. who knows. But now I have additional warranty to assuage my concerns. The dealer took care of me to retain my business. That's good business.

I hope you never have the issues I have had and am having. It is a minuscule number of problems compared with the number of bikes sold but it's 100% of the trikes that I bought.

I kept my end of the bargain and presented my check for the bike. They didn't keep up there end of the bargain in delivering a perfect machine.

I have been down this road with the MoCo on two separate occasions. Does it suck swamp water ? You bet. Having two separate engines grenade on a brand new Ultra Classic while riding at full tilt on the I-635 loop around Dallas was not my idea of fun, considering the 70 mph speed traffic was going. Both times the engines were replaced under warranty. Both times I was given a loaner to ride so I was not without wheels. That is the extent of their obligation under the warranty. If they were to go beyond that for you by providing an extended warranty n/c. They would be obligated to do so for every other person with engine issues. It's not going to happen.
