First issue with my 17

I have been noticing that the radio seems to be very slow booting up ever since i started using a memory stick to play music.So today when i took off for work rather than it playing from the stick it was playing the radio station,so i switched it to the store and go mode seemed fine.all the way to work.Tonight when i started the bike up the radio was turned off with just the bar and shield logo and clock showing,after some fiddling i got the radio station to show on the face with no sound,so i removed the memory stick,still nothing.

I checked to make sure that the mute wasn't on and it wasn't. So i turned it off and road the 30 minutes home.Once home i turned the ignition off for about 30 seconds then back on turned the radio on still no sound,called the dealer and made an appointment.After about ten minutes I went back out turned the key on and BINGO music,WHAT THE HELL! Turned the key off waited a few minutes,yep music,so i called the dealer to tell them and to keep my appointment.New tech stuff is ok until it screws up.But if is the only issue i have its just a minor inconvenience.

I don't think that this is a '17 only issue... had similar experience 3 or 4 times with my '14. The new one definitely boots up faster, even with the USB stick plugged in.

I've also had the same thing happen on my '14 a few times. It seems like it is HD's version of the MS BSOD. lol

I just turn the ignition off, wait a minute and turn it back on...that has resolved it each time for me.

Had a few things with the 14 like that. I don't think the radios got a big makeover with the new models. Basically the same radio since the Rushmores debuted.

Load or Re-load the 1.20.1 software available on the website in the Premium Radio section.
It can't hurt and might stabilize your system.

I have noticed that sometimes on a cold start if i take off right away and get a little to hard on the throttle that the bike will stutter a little between gears,ok i can kinda expect that with a cold engine.So yesterday after riding 17 miles at highway speed i was stopped at a red light in the left turn lane,the low fuel light had came on and said i had 25 miles left,so after making the turn i gassed it a little and again it stuttered so today when i took it in to have the radio issue looked at i told them what it was doing so will be interesting to see what they find out.

My 2011 Tri will do that when i have less than 10 miles and the gauge just read's Low..I just figure its the gas [only a half gal left] sloshing around and starving the pump a little.... But after all the problems you had i can see and rightfully so why you should bring it to their attention...

Very common thing is the gas remaining in the tank at a certain point can not reach the pickup point. I suggest you establish that point with your ride if you are going to push the full level.

I had noticed this several times on my '14 when I was into the low range indication, especially around corners or lane changes. Best judge is once you hit low range, keep track of how much further you go and how much it takes to fill it to get an idea as to how far you can push it. (And I don't mean really having to push it ! )

Its done the same thing when full but on a cold motor going straight when shifting,so i cant say its just because its low on fuel,just after it stuttered with the engine hot and the low fuel light on i pulled into a gas station about 500 ft up the road took 5.25 gals to fill up.Now my 16 Tri never did this ,talked to the tech yesterday whom i know personally,he said that the way these 17's are set up it is because i changed the mufflers,but he said that in his opinion the new tuner isnt worth the money(he is their main dyno tech) said he will use the power vision and the TTS once they get set up with them.Told me to just deal with it for now since riding season is at the end,because he knows i will do a stage 1 air cleaner and gut the cat so no need in two tunes.He knows me pretty well.

Thats what makes this Forum [Trike-Talk] interesting' Some other Trike Forum that I'm on question's will linger for a week or more before you get a reply'
