I just watched a U-Tube video on how to take the trunk completely off the FW. It looked pretty easy and would sure make it easier perform certain work on the Free, anyone else seen it. It's about installing slip-ons and the rear bumper.

I took the body off my freewheeler to install the screaming eagle mufflers. Its a simple job that I described on a post on this forum There are six bolts to be removed takes about 10 to 15 minutes If you don't have a manual go to your dealer and have him photo copy the page. Trike supplement service manual page 2-44 and page 2-45. If the dealer wont photo copy the page go to a different dealer. I have the manual but I phoned my dealer at Kamloops Harley who didn't know I had it and asked the parts girl whom I have dealt with to do it. She copied the pages and Emailed them to me no charge. If your dealer wont do it phone the Harley cares number in your owners manual and complain
Easy to do but not needed IMO
I work on my exhaust laying on my back
Still old school

don't know how you do it. I had Harley install my street cannons. they did it without removing the body leaked like crazy. I tried to tighten them but could not get any wrench in there. I then read my service manual, read the instructions for removing the body, did it in less than 1/2 hour. found that the exhaust pipes were not completely pushed inside the mufflers (1/2 inch) pushed them all the way in tightened all the bolts to spec No more leaks bye bye Harley mechanics (technicians haw haw)
I use anti sieze to slip the mufflers all the way on, and use new clamps
The hardest part of the job is getting the exhaust hangar bolts out but I have a sawed off double off set wrench
