Right on Doug let us know how it all turns out.

On the new 2017 we have the factory upgraded front forks/new redesign internals already. The new front folks work nicely compaired to our 2015 we had. I hope the new rear shocks finish everything of nicely.

The stock rear shocks are ok and work as design but they really are outdated and can most defiantly easily be improved on with the rear shock options out there on the market today. The MoCo would do well for them selves to look into a rear shock improvement on the trikes as they have done on the 2017 model trikes front forks/shocks. Who knows they may go IRS in the rear in the next couple of years, many out their are hoping for that. My self I hope they stay with the straight axle design and just improve/upgrade the rear suspension. I think straight the axle design corners better myself but everything is a trade off one way or the other.

With you Bill on the straight axle for the TG. Have never had the opportunity to ride an IRS machine but I think if HD went that route, the price would be through the roof!!

They could do a great deal to improve the rear suspension without going to the cost of a complete re-do. Then of course if HD did all the improvements on various areas of the TG, Kevin (DK) would have to find another business venture and we don't want that...

So I guess we will just continue to spend money on "improvements".

Today I changed my mind and changed to the Pro Action Street Series USA made rear shocks from DK Custom instead of the Bitubo Italy made rear shocks (DK claims no noticeable difference in ride) for our 2017 Tri Glide. I just thought I would support a USA company instead . Also I like the looks of the Pro Actions shocks better not that that really matters.. I also liked the limited lifetime guarantee and if warranty was needed it would be much easer to deal with a USA based company.

Have heard great things about both sets/brands of rear shocks that DK Custom offers for the Tri Glide. I hope they will be here next week .

Also, I will be interested to know if you install them yourself and if you needed to buy specialized tools and a Trike specific Jack to do it.

I will for sure be giving a review on the shocks and some pic's of install. With that said jack stands under trunk cross braces remove wheels/tires. Floor jack to lift rearend/axle up and down to get swing arm in place as needed to reinstall shocks. Reach up through fender openings to get to top shock bolts and air lines to remove and reinstall shocks. No trike lift needed for shock install even though I have one (J&S Jacks trike lift). Yes HD service manuels says to remove body ?? for shock change out but can be done without doing this. Over all pretty easy to do.

More Details on the Limited Lifetime Warranty on the Pro-Action Shocks-
It is a Lifetime Warranty subject to the following Limitations:

Only for the original purchaser of the shocks
Does not cover accidents, fire, environmental catastrophes (submerged in a flood, etc.)
Does not cover if the shocks were abused (overloading them), improper installation or application (mounted upside down, running a Sportster shock on a Road King, etc)

If they are installed properly, not overloaded, not damaged by some external force, then they are Lifetime shocks for the original purchaser....if they wear out, they will be rebuilt/replaced at no charge.

The Pro Action shocks are superb. They worked great with stock Harley shock brackets but worked way better with rear lift brackets installed.

The 1" lift brackets I installed instead of the 1.25" lift brackets normally used on trikes gave me 1 1/8" lift at the muffler tips verses the 1 3/8" given at the muffler tips by 1 25" lift brackets.

They Also gave me the more rear angle shock mounting position. Pro Action recommends the more rear angle for better shock function.( Like the popular comfort lift that's on the market)

These 1" lift brackets were made specifically for the 2017 model trikes taking into consideration the header and swing arm clearance issues known on 2017 models. I had this issue with our 2017 trike.

Now the Ride is just awsome and the trike floats over bumps. Of course you got to get the shocks dialed in with the spring load and the clicker adjustment. After that the shocks are bomb..

The trike now sits nice and level and steers great and as said the ride is awsome with the Pro Action shocks installed.
