Speedometer

On the way home yesterday I set my cruise a little above 70 with the wife following in her 2014 Silverado. When I get home she said I wasn't doing but a little over 60. Any of you have such a problem? But mine is a 2009, got it after my last back surgery and pending knee replacement and didn't want to buy a new one not knowing if I could ride at all.

my 2000 gl1500se is off when spedo is set on 70 my gps says 66 or 67

so I set my cruise with my gps

Front sprocket changed maybe? That would show you going faster than you are by about 10 mph I'd say.

My 2009 TG was spot-on with speedometer at 70.....so is my 2013 TG.

Maybe your wife's speedo is off....gearing in a car is not the same. You should check your speed with another TG.

A more mechanical way to determine your speed would be to first make sure your odometer is accurate in a 'measured' mile section of roadway. Assuming it is, then step two is to drive at a steady speed for one mile and time it. Then divide those seconds into 3600. That will give you a close mph. Although I wouldn't recommend it unless road/traffic conditions allow.

Borrow a portable GPS from someone and go for a ride. That will tell you how accurate you speedo is. I suspect the previous owner did the front drive pulley change which will do that to your speedo.

HD has never been known for good gauges even back as far as I can remenber
