Hey Gary.....You certainly right about the Q-tips down here...Especially now cause its snowbird season...Lots of traffic, but the seasoners bring lots of money into the state and town of Lake Placid......
I was born an raised in Elgin, Il so I know about the cold winters up North...That's why we retired here...
You should visit Fl. sometime..Daytona Bike Week or Biketoberfest should be on everyones list !! There are a lot of smaller Rallies around the state...Like Leesville bikefest.....Key West Poker Run,, just to name a few.....In my younger
(single) days Bikeweek was EVERY year...I think I went 14 or 15 years in a row....

I've been to Sturgis a few times. Never to Daytona. Too cold starting out and coming back and I will not take a vacation unless I can ride there (no planes or cars for me). The closest I've come to Florida was a trip to New Orleans back in 1975.
I've ridden to all states except Florida, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana and been to 4 Canadian provinces.
Maybe some day after I retire and have the time, I can take the trip in 100 mile increments then stop at a motel to thaw out each time. That would be an adventure.
I'd rather take my vacations in the summertime.

Gary, try Biketoberfest; the weather going and returning is much better. It has all the same activities as the Spring Rally, but the weather is usually better. Semper Fi Devil Dog!

I've finally got the TG back at home after winter storage at the dealership. The ride back was 52* and took about 25 minutes, and I was at highway speed for 20 of that. I was wearing gloves, and had the grips turned all the way up to six. Very comfortable all the way home.
Rode the trike to work tonight (5 mile ride) the temp was about 50*, and I decided to experiment without gloves. I made it about 2 miles and pulled over and put the gloves on. I could've made it, but I just didn't want to.
So far, I'll call this the best purchase for the TG since I bought lighted hand controls.
