The coldest wind-chill index ever recorded in Quincy was 51 degrees below zero on Jan. 10, 1982. The next-coldest wind chill occurred Jan. 20, 1985. Meanwhile, many local residents will never forget Christmas Eve of 1983 when the wind chill dipped to 46 below zero. Seven other dates saw the wind chill index in Quincy dip between 43 and 36 below zero.
My hands and feet have been frostbit doing emergency repairs for the local phone company in those temperatures.. Any kind of cold weather riding is out of the question for me. My hands and feet feel the pain just thinking about riding below 55 degrees. I'm a woof!
