Wind Chill Chart... It's cold here!

This chart does not go low enough!

I know for you guys up north this is nothing.

We got down to 7* last night, and at 9am this morning it is only 15*. That is pretty dadgum cold for us in Mississippi.

The coldest wind-chill index ever recorded in Quincy was 51 degrees below zero on Jan. 10, 1982. The next-coldest wind chill occurred Jan. 20, 1985. Meanwhile, many local residents will never forget Christmas Eve of 1983 when the wind chill dipped to 46 below zero. Seven other dates saw the wind chill index in Quincy dip between 43 and 36 below zero.

My hands and feet have been frostbit doing emergency repairs for the local phone company in those temperatures.. Any kind of cold weather riding is out of the question for me. My hands and feet feel the pain just thinking about riding below 55 degrees. I'm a woof!

The lowest i can remember riding in was 6 degrees and 180 miles, What the wind chill was i don't know, I used a heated jacket over a light T shirt, with a heavy leather jacket over that, Lined jeans with overall's, heavy gloves and a full face helmet.
And to tell the truth i wasn't cold at all.. That said any colder than that ' I would need a full snowmobile suit.. Back in the 70's 5 or 6 of us would ride all night on the snowmobiles in temp's 10/20 below..And run on the pipelines as far as a half a tank would take us..Those days are gone, Not enough snow now and some of the lakes and streams don't freeze over like they did..Oh, yea we are all a few years older now...So Now when we get together we stay in the cabin, Drinking to the good old days.. When Men Were Men..

Years of working outside for years took its toll on me. I can't get enough heat.

Heck, I looked at that chart and realized I rode to work the other week, twice, in temps below that chart....without chaps. Was still too warm. And for the smart asses out there, yes, I did have pants on.
I keep on thinking of getting some heated gear, but every year I say if the trike can start, I can handle it.
Coldest windchill was years ago at Killington ski area. Was -76 ' F windchill. Stayed out for 1 hr at a time. Then headed into lodge to recover. Slopes were empty. Peak was closed. It was -96 'F windchill there. The wooses wouldn't let anyone up there.
Don't remember the actual temp, but I will assume "freakin' cold".

I had taller handlebars installed on my 2011 Tri Glide, not real tall, just about shoulder high. A more comfortable ride except in the winter. The bars moved my hands just above the wind protection of the fairing and they get numb real quick when the wind chill gets down below freezing.

Made sure oil was nice and warmed up and circulated in engine yesterday. Left magnetic heater under TG overnight. So at 3:30am today, I got a nice chilly highway ride in for 1 hr. It was 6'F. Wasn't too bad. Then switched to new coworkers car at his house and had him drive me to job site 450 miles away north of Pittsburgh. It's good to have minions. Hit snow and freezing rain, so just as well I didn't ride all the way.

Bozo, Some friends of ours here in Ocala are from Canada. When it's 40 degrees F the rest of us are bundled up and they're just in a long sleeve shirt. Now I realize they're used to cooler weather than we are here, but 6 degrees F on a bike? More power to ya!

71* here today. Nice day to ride but I didn't get out of the house. I got a bug a couple of days ago and I have pretty much been in the bed. Not normal for me. Jim
