The cables are starting to get rather stiff. They work but are getting stiff, any ideas on how to make the cables softer again. Proly about 6 yrs old.

Silicone! I use silicone on all types of rubber, from auto weather stripping to hoses
My cables are over 10 years old and still pretty supple. Haven't use silicone on them though......yet.

If perchance the silicone doesn't work and you need new cables, shop around. Almost all the major heated gear makers use the coaxial type connectors. Gerbings, Aerostich, Warm & Safe, Tourmaster, Harley, Powerlet and others all seem to say only theirs are acceptable, but they are all the same system. Even the controllers are pretty much interchangeable. I have a Gerbings jacket liner, but the controller is dual Warm & Safe and the extension cables are from Aerostich. Gloria's liner is Tourmaster with a Harley single controller (made by Gerbings BTW) and the same off season sale Aerostich cables I have.
