For people that have warranty left

I was at dealer on Sat, bought some parts for the triglide. I asked the parts person about a tuner and what he would recommend and he said Power Vision which is what I was thinking also. He told me even if I left it in stock form I would benefit from it.

Now the catch to this, asked him about warranty since HD is getting picky on mods because of EPA, he said it would void my warranty even if I bought the power vision from them and had them install it. Most dealers will do this because it is money in their pocket and they will tell you they will still do warranty work on it, basically don't believe the dealer no matter how good they treat you, they are out for the almighty dollar, the parts guy told me they are doing exhaust changes to the 2017 models to get rid of the cat and other changes which will void the warranty, so I guess some people don't care about warranty issues, me I do at least for now, I still have 1 1/2 years left on mine.

Just thought I would throw this out there for people that still have warranty left, you decide, no matter how good the dealer is they will lie to you to get the money in their pockets, sad that it is this way, I know their are good dealers out there and some bad ones, but when it comes down to warranty issues and the dealer does honor what needs to be done and MOCO founds out, not sure what would happen to the dealer, maybe it would be out of pocket for the dealer and a red flag for the bike in question.

When i got my 17 this past Sept I was back in service talking to a friend who works there as their main dyno guy,about exhaust tuners ect.. Told me the same thing about HD,but he told me that they would honor the warranty work anyway.Now I believe him,but as Trampas said what happens if you are out of state and you have an issue,your options are take it to the closest dealer and take your chances or if you are lucky have a buddy with a trailer come get you.As for myself I too will wait until the warranty runs out.

I've rode Triglides all over the country since Oct 2008 and others HD conversions since the beginning of time and never had a warranty issue. I pull a trailer, installed head pipes, cams, slip ons, screamin eagle heads, intake and tuners. Most dealers stand behind their word and just fix my bike either under factory warranty or ESP. A good customer service reputation builds a good customer base and dealers know this. If you have came accross a dealer that lies to folks; they don't have repeat customers. BUT, MOCO follows the rules though. If I'm at home and need serious warranty work, the trailer comes off, the trailer wiring disappears and I connect a good excuse for the hitch.

They also saved me over $800 on my Boom Stage II system over my regular dealer....and were hundreds of $$$$ cheaper for the VIP service contract over my regular dealer. I do have to travel a lot further, but on a nice day - who cares - I do get a loaner also.

Had this happen to me on my 2009 Road Glide a few years ago. The bike had a HD tuner on it and the dealer always did warranty work. Then took in for an expensive warranty job and the bike was inspected by the HD warranty company prior to authorizing the repair. And yes, they saw the tuner and would not pay for the $1,900 fix.
