    Default Question for those that have removed driver foot pegs...

    I have a 2007 with a 2016 CSC Viper conversion. I also had the foot/floorboards installed at that time. I had read where some have removed their driver foot pegs and just rest their feet on the floorboards. I think I like that idea because it will give me more leg room. It is very easy to remove the 2 bolts to remove the foot pegs and mount. The problem is that it now looks unfinished.

    For those that have removed their driver pegs, what, if anything, did you do to the mounting point to give it a more finished look? Or did you just leave it as is and ignore it?

    Mike,
    I think removing the peg, spring and pin is usually what is done and then the bracket remains. The brackets are inexpensive and you can probably cut off the extension that has the peg connection and re-paint to match. You could make a plate to cover it but that would require even more work.

    Here is what I did. I'm leaving the photo pretty large so you can easily see what it what. I made a new base from 1/4 inch plate then built mounts for the Kurykan foot pegs. They just flip straight up once I get on the trike and I use the Wing Guards.

    I am vertically challenged so I need the foot pegs to get on and off the trike but my knees are pretty shot so being able to use the floor boards was a big deal.

    This is my '06 Motor Trike Adventure but when I sold it and go the '15 Roadsmith HTS1800 the foot pegs were swapped over. If you'd like more detail photos I can send them. PM me you email address.

    Jerry, sure like your color! I guess you can figure out why. Could you send me a photo of the rear of your trike. I have a motortrike Spyder and I would like to see your rear bumper. Ours doesn't have a bumper and I'm on the hunt.

    I did not remove the pegs, but took the spring out. If I want to rest my foot on the floorboards, I can just slip my foot under the pegs and push them up with my foot. If I want to use the stock pegs, they are still there.

    This is what I am going with for now. I took the pegs and springs off the mount and put it back on. Looks more "finished"...

    I am going to try Lee Mann's suggestion for now with the pegs and springs eemoved to see how I like it. But without pegs, it is a little awkward getting on the trike. Maybe a little more practice and it will feel more natural. If not, I may try your suggestion and add just the pegs back. Thanks...

    I have been running with my foot pegs on my Hannigan RT removed and like the extra room it affords. I just made a cover from scrap plastic rolled the top edge to cover the gap. I think this cleans the looks up.Name:  image.jpeg
