Mud flap install

I was hoping to here from anyone that is using Velcro or some other way of installing mud flaps without drilling holes and how long have they been on. Thanks Dan

I wanted to put mudflaps on my Tri Glide but didn't want to drill holes in the fenders. After remembering what I used years ago I finally found Gorilla snot ( glue to u guys) I used it years ago and never had a problem. So far these have been on for a month or so and are holding tight. I bought it at Charleston auto parts in Vegas. The behind the counter was an older guy and he knew what Gorilla snot was. Smear some one each part when tacky stick together and hold for a short time or stuff something between tire and mudflap to hold in place. I let mine set for a couple of hours. I think its a nice clean look. Mud flaps are 8" high x 10 1/2 wide.

I've got another cycle with a fender extender that I attached with Automotive Grade GOOP (bought at Home Depot). It is holding just fine!!!

I posted this last August and they're still on and don't seem to be ready to fall off anytime soon.

I was looking to do the same thing, not drilling holes, and found a way as have others. Go buy a roll of 3M exterior automotive double sided tape (wider the better). It's the tape they use to stick exterior trim on cars, so it's made to be exposed to the elements. Heat it up a bit until it just starts to bubble (makes it sticker) and put it on the mudflaps. Let it cure for a day or so and do the same thing for the part that gets stuck to the inside rear of the fenders.

Be damned sure you've got it positioned right before sticking it on there. Once it gets hold of the fender, it won't let go. I had people tell me that it wouldn't work, but it's been over three years now and nothings fallen off yet. You can also put some caulking around the outside edge of the tape to seal water out, which should help it last longer.

I have been using 3M for years and have never been disapointed Just make sure every thing is real clean and 3M seems to like a little heat to get it working real good. HAVE FUN

I am thinking of using the 3M dual lock myself, the only trouble is for this size of town, there is none to be had, couldn't believe it, guess I will have to order off of amazon or ebay, go figure.

P.S. The 3M dual lock reclosable fasterner TB 3870 is what I can't find, this is the one that HDBOB posted on the saddlebag thread as a good one, I have seen others around here but not this one.
