Do you guys hear a rubbing noise when you are backing up and not using the motor? The dealer told me it was because the belt tracks to the other side of the pulley when reversing.
Mine is 2015 TG

Yes all belts when reversing will ride off to the side a little...It has to do with the way their manufactured.. That was a major concern with early Spyder owners... Thats why when adjusting the belt you should roll the Trike forward a few feet or more before doing the final measurements......

2019 Tri-Glide.......
Sometimes I'll also hear the rotor/brake pads rubbing also.
That rubbing noise you hear when backing up is Harley's version of a back up alarm (like school buses, trash trucks, etc. have) but due to design budget constraints that is they best they could come up with! LOL.

My drive was is downhill, so I just get aimed in backwards and let it roll (while engine is still running). When I touch the foot break I get the awful squeal like metal on metal. Glad to hear it just is not mine, not sure why, but guess it is not hurting anything.
