Motor Trike Razor looking for opinion's

Friend has a Motor Trike Razor 2016 kit. Attached to a 2015 Honda Gold Wing. Anyone have first hand experience with one of these? Got a chance to ride it and there was a felt/heard vibration coming from what I assume is the drive shaft when you get on the throttle. Is this normal.
Any thoughts on Motor Trike?

I'd start with the easy stuff first. Could it be coming from the front ??? Many trike owners put a non-radial, directional tire, running in the wrong direction on the front. Doing so can cause a wear pattern that creates a bad vibration as the tire wears. The wear pattern is often called cupping. Often the vibration changes when throttling on or off. Usually it's accompanied with a humm or roar.

Make sure your air pressures are correct according to the Motortrike.

As for the drive shaft, yes it can be that too. Motortrike says the drive shaft should be inspected and lubed every 6,000. Also, don't over look the need to balance and rotate the rear tires every 5,000.

I have a Razor on a '12.

Never experienced any vibrations.

1. If you have a vibration in the drive shaft, you need immediate help. There should be none!
If it is the drive shaft, it could lead to a catastrophic failure at speed.
2. As far as cupping goes, here's a great article that accurately describes tire wear:

3. Using RideOn removes the need to rebalance tires.

I've got a 2014 Goldwing with MotorTrike Razor conversion bought completed Trike new from a Honda dealer. No issues on vibration for me.

Craig,

I wouldn't necessarily assume it's coming from the driveshaft "off the bat". You mention the vibration is heard/felt when you "get on" the throttle.
Is it during partial throttle (normal acceleration), heavy throttle, power shifting, rolling speed and applying full throttle etc.? Is it more noticeable in a specific speed range, or at any speed?
Is it more noticeable in a specific gear, or in any gear?
Do you know how many miles are on the conversion kit and when the last time the driveshaft was inspected and or lubricated?

I know half of the above questions seem rather mundane and repetitive, but they are all important factors used in helping to determine the source of a possible issue.
