Just curious how fast have you had your trike up to.........
In the middle of nowhere Texas, I actually got my stock '10 TG up to 103 mph. Confirmed on GPS. Usually, it won't go much past 90 mph. And if heading into a strong wind, you don't want to know how low.
Oh yeah, the next day in Tucson, on way to HD for no real reason, when lost my charging. Seems I melted the stator.
65 mph...

Until the fear of death overcomes my need of speed...... Somewhere around 90 mph....And only once or twice...

91mph with the National Windshield I have now. It was beginning to get front end shakes, not a shimmy though and I backed off. Airflow is very different with the National. Its swept back a lot more to reduce rear passenger buffeting.
With OEM shield had it up to 105mph(not confirmed by GPS) with no issues. I saw no need to push it further. Besides had no more rpms to play with........I don't know what max is for a GW with 2 wheels.
Had my 99 Valkyrie well over 115mph with plenty to spare.
My 05 Yamaha Road Star 117mph one time when new.
Edit: even though it was 5 years ago. I was much stupider then.
No real need to ever go over 80mph on any bike other then because you can.
Just my 2 cent worth.

Foe me it's not about speed ... it's about bugs in my teeth ...
I am a 65 mph type of rider with some 70s when in a hurry, with that being said I have opened it up a time or two going around trucks and looked down and was doing 95 + ( mpg goes down bad )
Somewhere between 90 & 100 a few times.

High speed never did very much for me. I'd rather experience high acceleration.

Evening everyone ~ this is more than likely only my 2nd or 3rd post ~ haven't checked and haven't been here in a while. Just went down a couple of states and eyed an '03 GL1800, liked the site and sound ~ just had to go for a test ride even though the temp was around 19*F! Pulled on the gear I took with me, strapped on a helmet and straddled the Black Diamond. Has been years since I rode a Gold Wing, but the feelings came back! I listened thru the gears, looked down and was instantly around 65 on a back 2 lane country road. Yep, slowed that puppy way down and enjoyed the next couple of miles before taking it back to the dealer. Will be headed back down around the end of the month to finalize the deal. As for speed, at 68 ~ I have to hold back! Still have the reflex's as I normally ride a Honda VTX1800R and feel like 18 every time I straddle it. Lower back problems have made a trike a necessity if I want us to keep riding, so now it's time to relax and enjoy the sights.
BTW ~ the VTX1800 is somewhere in the neighborhood of a 110 cu.in. (2 cylinders) and has no trouble busting 100 in 4th gear, only bike I've ever owned which has a rev limiter!
Hopefully, I'll get to read and add to many other threads here on the board and meet some of y'all out on the road.
Until then, Stay Safe ~
edit: realize this is post #11, not 2 or 3.
Never been in big enough hurry to try pushing the limits but on couple occasions passing on interstate I've ran it up to 85mph + . Not a big deal but mpg really drop at that speed.

80 MPH from Lexington to Crestview Hills, KY
It was stable and a great ride.

Only once have I taken our trike "up there" (somewhere above 70-75) and that was after doing some driveshaft / U-joint fine tuning to check for a lack of vibration. She was smoother at highway speed so I "accelerated" ="still smooth".
By choice, we normally avoid Interstates and the traffic as we use the old roads ... but occasionally we'll hit the big road.
I've seen 100 indicated a couple of times. 08 GW with 2013 MT kit
I don't know how fast it will go...because I haven't tried. On the free ways here in so. cal, I like to cruise at 80 mph, as long as i'm in the flow of traffic...don't want any tickets . I find at 80 the trike just cruises... very smooth and comfortable....love it
