Good evening
Has anyone changed there headlight bulb out for a led bulb, pros, cons?
also I have read where other members have made both headlights on at the same time.
are both high and low beams on the same focal length. what I mean does the projection
of the high beam have a different pattern than the low beam. also I was wondering
when you turn the key on the headlight comes on at a lower voltage, and then when
you turn on the light switch it is 12v, is the relay involved one that lets a certain amount of voltage through on one setting and then when activated it goes to full12v.
I would like to have both lights on together and I plan on making them leds. before I get too crazy I would like to hear from others who have done this.

One of my headlights comes on when the ignition is turned on. When I turn on the headlight switch on the panel, the other one comes on, I have a low and high beam on that light. The other one that you mentioned is on at a lower voltage when the ignition is turned on. When the headlight switch is turned on it is on a little brighter. Now, about led's. I ordered some led bulbs but they would not go through the hole in the light housing. I replaced the driving lights in the cowling with led lights, not led bulbs, but the whole light. I also mounted some larger led light assemblies to the cowl on each side. They are too bright to run at night if you are meeting traffic and I do not ride at night if I can help it. I don't think there is much hope for getting the OEM headlights any brighter. One member on this forum did replace his with HID lights. That might have possibilities. That about sums up my knowledge of the Stallion light sitchy-achion!!!

Hi Chuck,

I've been very frustrated with the inadquacies of the Stallion's headlights from day one, as I'm sure you have been. I bought these leds on Ebay last summer with the hopes of improving the brightness and coverage of the headlights. I had diificulties posting a link, but here's the description: H11 H9 H8 H16-JP G7 LED Headlight Replacement Bulb 6500K Philips Lumileds ZES. ​Copy and paste this description in the search section when you're in Ebay. I will say that the leds are a bit brighter and certainly whiter, however the coverage is about the same as the originals. I raised the headlights a bit to improve the distance and when I find that I have to drive at night, which isn't that frequently, I click on the high beams. A lot should be said to getting the headlights aimed correctly. This proved to be a great factor on getting the most benefit out of the leds. Good luck with your research. I had one on my Goldwing. Wouldn't leave home without it. I'd have one on the Stallion, but it won't work with the HID's. They're plenty bright though. Rick

I replaced mine a few years back with Sylvania H-9 (both the same) and adjusted the beam up which made a big difference. Now Gorilla used Pia, I think that's right, for MJ's Stallion and they are brighter than mine but, I didn't find out until I had already replaced mine.

A funny thing happened, I ordered a elite h9 led fan less bulb only to find out when I went to install them. I have the old h3 55w bulbs.not really a lot you can do with them. I didn't know that they installed this light set for headlights. has anyone with the early models have these also.

Replaced the stock TG headlight with LED . Also needed that back plate (bowl). Was getting engine noise on radio. Talked to shop. They returned it and send correct one with noise suppression block that should have been there originally.

I love it. Low beam is bright. High beam is bulb directly over low beam and extra bright. Nice visibility. Not cheap, but well worth it.
