If you are talking fiberglass, use soap and water. After drying I use brake-kleen on a towel and remove all residue where the velcro is being applied.

3M Dual lock is far superior to velcro. You have 250 stems per sq inch (sj3870) and 400 (sj3871) to choose from.

Check out the tread here on trike saddlebag mounting. Someone is having great success with this type tape. I'm sure there is some great tape out there, but I'm not trusting anything but good old nuts and bolts for peace of mind security.

I agree, Nuts and bolts.. Talk to any road maintenance person and thell tell you that the roads are filled with un-guled pieces of plastic ...

I would use the nut and bolts IMHO, have talked to 3M about this, no velcro, no dual lock fastester, no double sided tape, they don't think it will hold that great for going down the road with the wind, the rain and everything else that are on the roads, they said you could lose a mud flap, mud flap could break or crack, now with the bolt and nut system you could replace it if lost or damaged, easier to replace instead of all these above or even automotive glue.

Tried to edit my post, not sure why you only have 10 minutes to do it, one other thing is the heat depending on where you are, 3M said heat can be a big factor on holding this stuff on, if it is not prep right even the glue. I know 67Wizard glued his on and been on for 2 years according to him, but if it breaks or get a crack in it, have fun trying to get it off, nuts and bolts is the way to do it.

Now I don't like the idea of drilling in the fender myself, but when I get what I want, I will be drilling the holes for the nuts and bolts so I can replace it easy if any damage occurs to mud flap.

I still have mine just glued on and it get hot here in Las Vegas Nv.
My mud flaps are rubber so no cracking to worry about. If I ever loose one just clean the area and glue on another one, only about $20.00. Keep ur fingers crossed.

If you use dual lock make sure it is "VHB" means very high bond.

I have had mine attached to the front fender on three different bikes/trikes. First I washed the area really well, then cleaned with alcohol and let it dry for about 15 min. Make sure you use industrial grade velcro

The Velcro SeeThoughBraz furnishes with their various applications is very durable. Works great. I've had their stick on saddle bags on my trike now for over 2 years and has never hinted of coming loose. I've taken them off numerous times to clean the trike, no problems.

I've tried over the years every body's commercial, heavy duty Velcro.....junk.

Don't know if the gang at SeeThroughBraz will share their manufacture information but I'd contact them to check out their stuff.
