New Member in France set to Trike

Hi All,

I am a retired Police Officer from the UK who lives in France. I've enjoyed riding bikes for the last 40years the last 22 years on Harleys having owned a few over the years. My current bike which I love is a Switchback, but times are changing due to health. Our only transport up until a few weeks ago was our bike which I ride year round.

I decided to join TrikeTalk as I've just been discharged from hospital today, I have my feet up where they will be resting for the next two/three months whilst my health improves following a very serious foot bone infection and health scare from an old injury which spread up my right leg only to start shutting down my main organs.

Anyway doctors have saved leg and foot, the organs are all functioning well and I'm feeling really strong and positive. My foot will always be fragile as will strength in leg.

So not prepared to give up my main passion of riding I'll be looking in to getting a Trike in a few months time and have my eyes set on a Freewheeler for me and my wife and occasionally our two 'yorkies'. I have a pretty good idea of how I want it already but am looking forward to hearing ideas from others.

I've already started admiring lots of the fantastic trikes on this site and reading about possible concerns I have moving from two to three wheels. In all I can't wait as it's a new chapter for us to look forward to.

My wife said to me this morning that it saddened her to know we had taken our last ride on two wheels a couple of weeks ago without realising it at the time but was also excited by the prospect of enjoying our new three wheeled adventures. Life is good.
