Hi there!
Unclepsycho here !!
I bought a used Voyager trike "Kit" Training wheels is a better description.
I put it on my 2006 HD Ultra Classic.
I have logged 3 trips so far.
15 mile shake down, went well.
90 mile ride found me fixing a flat, just as I got to my friends house, so it was easy... but on the way home the 'Preload" went away and it was very difficult to handle in corners.
Re-watched the preload procedures on a video,...
Went on a 50 mile ride and was way better.
But my buddy who was following me to watch how the trike kit reacts in the corners said the shocks were appearing useless.... unbolted one and it is shot. So I took the part number off it and ordered a new set.
When the shocks get here I'll be able to test ride again....
So that's where I am with my 'Trike'
As for how long I been riding?? I got my motorcycle endorsement in 1980, but of course rode a couple dirt bikes before that. I started on a Honda CL350 then Yamaha XS650, crashed that got another one, then a Kaw 400 for a week in the 90's, and then went to an '03 Honda VT1100, traded that for the '06 Ultra, and then in '09 I got my '72 Shovelhead
Was on 2 wheels until a work injury to my shifter foot in '13.
So to get back in the wind, I added wheels to my bike. also added a heel/toe type shifter so I can shift with the bad foot still.
The beauty of the Voyager is that I can have a Belly Plate and swingarm brackets on each bike, and just put the trike kit on which ever bike I want !!
I can weld am confident in my skills so I made my own brackets, and modified the belly plate that came with my kit. But the factory will sell any part needed to keep their product on the road. I found them very friendly and helpful when I called them for info.
I'm in the Santa Rosa California area, just about an hour or more North of the Golden Gate Bridge.
My name is Scott, friends call me Psycho, or Unclepsycho.......
nickname I got back in '84................. but that's another story.
As a newbie (to this forum) I'll just set here in the back row for a while, and behave.
